Director Robert Zemeckis's long awaited adaptation of the classic tale BEOWULF has been announced as hitting 3-D IMAX theaters on November 2, 2007 coinciding with its wide theater release. Paramount Pictures and Imax have partnered up to bring the tale of the battle between the warrior Beowulf and the monster Grendel in Imax form for audiences everywhere.

I'm pretty sure most of us know the tale of BEOWULF but this is the basic story premise for it:

Based on the 8th or 9th century poem...This film will tell the epic adventures of Beowulf, a Norse warrior who arrived in a time of need to assist King Hrothgar of the Danes when his kingdom was attacked by the monster, Grendel. Although Grendel is the most famous of Beowulf's foes, he is only the first, as Beowulf eventually faces a dragon and other challenges...

Author Neil Gaiman wrote the screenplay for the film adaptation and Robert Zemeckis is directing it.
