According to TheHollywood Reporter, 2000AD Films, plc has found a group of British investorsto help shepherd the classic UK sci-fi characters to the big screen. Last month,video game and film studio Rebellion established a public offering of a stake in2000AD Films under a UK based Enterprise Investment Scheme.
The Reporterindicates that the investment group ponied up an undisclosed sum for the rightsto characters like Judge Dredd, Strontium Dog andmore. Jason and Christopher Kingsley, Rebellion co-founders, continue to managethe properties. Andrew Curtis, the founding partner of media law firm Drew &Co. Solicitors, is also named as a partner. Film financier and productionexecutive Daniel Figuero (The Scarlet Tunic) is also on board.
Work is alreadyunderway on back-to-back features for the 2000AD flagship character JudgeDredd.
