
EmpireOnline reported that one of the production companies that helped produceGhost World is closing its doors for good. Granada Films; the filmdivision of British television broadcaster ITV is being shut down.
Empire said that althoughthe company is being dissolved ITV does not plan on getting out of thefilm business completely. A spokesperson told Empire that ITV would continueto make movies, however it no longer has a specific film production companyto do so.
Granada is the second BritishFilm Company to cease operation in recent months. Film Four makers of movieslike Trainspotting, and Four Weddings and a Funeral alsoclosed its doors recently.
