Bill and Ted 3 Director Found

From Galaxy Quest to San Dimas

By Robert T. Trate     August 11, 2012
Source: MTV News

Talk about some excellent news, dudes. Not only does it seem like Bill & Ted 3 is actually happening, but stars Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are attached to reprise their roles and according to a new Vulture report, Dean Parisot is attached to direct.
But that means Parisot won't be able to start filming until after Red 2 (which starts shooting in the spring) wraps, but there could be worse news. At least this movie is actually happening!
Bill & Ted creators Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson already wrote a script for the project that will share with audiences where Bill and Ted are in today's world instead of having the new movie be either a sequel or a prequel. Both Reeves and Winter have been interested in returning to the material for a while, so it seems like whatever script Solomon and Matheson created was good enough for them.
When MTV News caught up with Reeves back in April, he teased that a script was "six weeks away," which about lines up with the timeline Vulture is presenting. He also gave us some insights about how this movie will line up with the end of its predecessor.

"When we last got together, part of it was that Bill and Ted were supposed to have written the song that saved the world, and it hasn't happened," he said. "So they've now become kind of possessed by trying to do that. Then there's an element of time and they have to go back."

Thanks to Chopsaki for the submission.

I can't sit through these films and have never seen an entire not even most of any of these even though I'm a Keanu fan. But good for the fans I guess

LOVE IT! As long as the Grim Reaper comes back too.

Could Lewis Black replace George Carlin?

I think there could be an interesting story to tell about a middle aged Bill and Ted.  Two men set for greatness, but have just remained bone headed losers (the princesses may have left them and they might be living in their parent's basements.) Carlin would be sorely missed, but it could be explained since they have never written the song that changed the world.  His time period would never exist.  Instead, it would be some darker version.  Anyway, the other two were fun...I'd like to see what the come up with.

I'd love another Bill and Ted Adventure, but the idea that they never made that "world changing song" seems bad.  At the time of Bogus Journey, they did just that.  There were a slew of fake magazine and newspaper articles during the credits about it.

Be excellent to each other and party on dudes!

@Inner - I agree, there is an interesting story to tell there.

I wonder if their world changing song will be Rock or more electro since Music has progressed since these movies. Haven't watch these since I was a kid, but I'm completely up for more!!

@redhairs - I wonder if the Time Element they mention above has some effect that makes the magazines and articles not come true. They have to go back and change that...

Strange things are afoot at the Circle-K.

My all-time favorite comedy is the first Bill and Ted. Will miss Rufus though. I always thought Jack Black could be in one of these since he's into the type of music they play in these films. But since Parisot directed my second favorite comedy Galaxy Quest, I'm kind of pulling for him to get Sam Rockwell as their new guide from the future.

All we are is dust in the wind dude.
