It looks like DR. WHO will have three assistants in the upcoming season of the famous British series. BBC reports that Billie Piper is set to return as character "Rose Tyler" for three episodes in the 2008 series. We last saw Piper playing the character last year before getting transported to a parallel universe . Due to the character's popularity, the producers had planned to focus a spin-off on her character but it was deemed "a spin-off too far" by executive producer Russell Davies. Instead, the character will be coming back to join other assistants Donna (Catherine Tate) and Martha (Freema Agyeman).
The plan is to air a new season in 2008 and then take a year off. Instead, they will air 3 "specials" in 2009 before debuting the following season in 2010.
