The Birds Remake Coming from Michael Bay

This pretty sums up how we feel about a remake.

Can’t Michael Bay just leave it alone? In what will undoubtably be a horrific remake, Michael Bay has found a director to remake Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds. Variety broke the story on the last day of February.

“Platinum Dunes, Mandalay Pictures and Universal have tapped Dutch filmmaker Diederik Van Rooijento direct the remake of Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds.”

Why? Why? Oh wait I know the reason, the lack of an original idea and greed. Sorry Maniacs, I’ll go back to my corner and let you sound off about this.

All the questions about what made the birds go Cucu! are about to get answered!

Please God make them stop this madness... Hitchcock knew some things are to be left alone (mistery) why can't they follow his good example?

oh come on! For one we don't even need a birds remake. Plus really Michael bay? Really?

 Only Hitchcock could remake Hitchcock!

I don't know that only Hitchcock could remake Hitchcock - but Michael Bay certainly shouldn't be involved in any way.

Let's see Bay ruined my turtles, He's going to ruin my mom's fave movie.  someone please stop Bay. What project can he touch and destroy next?  Wait don't answer that.

I think someone should just follow Michael Bay around with a teleprompter that works for a moment and then suddenly stops one sentence into whatever he's saying.  That way every time he has an idea, he gets frustrated and walks away.

I can't wait to see how many ways he finds to blow up birds and hopefully in slo/mo

Wiseguy, don't forget the spinning camera shot (also in slow/mo) as the hero(es) stand up with the camera rotating around them.

This is terrible in a way that I cannot imagine.

Nowadays Hollywood makes better movies, with better storylines, and better special effects. It's only natural someone would want to see the classics remade better - just remember "Total Recall", the new version is waaaaaaay much better than the original, and the original was good (for a Verhoeven movie). BUt how many of these "remakes" are good, how many are lousy? Maybe in this version they will explain why the birds attack people, why they let them get away in the end, and it will ruin the whole "mistery" of the movie!

If anyone was gonna do this film, it should have been John Woo. Think about it.
