No lazarus I do not see any racial bias. Why not?(I am white BTW) Because it is about an African country in Africa with Africans as the main characters. That is why. In fact, what exactly are you complaining about? There are really no white characters in the Black Panther comic that are in a role of any significance that I remember. I could be wrong. Anyone have any input on that? I know he is friends with the Avengers so they may be in the toon sometime or another.

And yes, the guy who is Black Panther and Storm are now married. She spends most of her time in Africa with her husband now and not with the X-Men.

As for other characters having cameos like I said before Black Panther has always been more associated with the Avengers so it would make more sense for them to be in it once in a while.

I thought Black Panther and Storm were only married in an alternate reality. Or Ultimate versions or something...

Nope, it is the main Earth 616 story line.  Storm and Black Panther and married and she is Queen of Wakanda.

The legendary Black Panther...at last we meet.  Looking forward to it.  BET had better not drop the ball and show it at some stupid hour (they really get on my nerves sometimes).  While I would've liked the animation to be a bit more fluid, I think it'll be fine and I also like that it's definitely influenced by JR jr.  I'm fine with the soundtrack.  I actually sort of like it.

I acutally want them to make a live action Black Panther movie with Djimon Hounsou as T'Challa.  That would kick ass.  Then they can have him in the Avengers 2(because we all know it is going to happen!) after the first Avengers movie.

Black Panther looks awesome! The animation looks great and by the looks of the opening they are gonna have some pretty big names doing voiceover. Cant wait!

I have to say I am interested to see the Black Panter cartoon.  Hope they do justice to the character though....he has a long history in Marvel.

I was thinking the same thing monkeyfoot. Do any of you guys even read the books, The Black Panther and Storm are married that's why she's in the show.  They ran the Fantastic Four together for a while when Reed and Sue were going through the divorce. Geez you guys get your geek on. I kid, I kid.

Watching that intro I thought that was pretty cool that they added her to keep up with continuity.

I love the art work with the new BP cartoon. Reminds me of a cross between those old Marvel Super-Heroes cartoons and the old Avengers comic book artwork. Very cool.

As far as the music goes, I'm so sick of super hero shows/movies either having classical sounding or Rockish' theme songs my head could explode. Thank God they are actualy using something with an Urban flare. I wish it didn't have to be contained to just African American characters. Hip- hop, Funk and R&B can be used to tell a story also. Hopefully, music supervisors will begin to recognise this.

@lazurus

Really? Just becuase you don't see any White people on the show, you think there is a racial bias? Now you know how black kids felt from the time superheroes began appearing on radio, TV and in the movies. It wasn't until "Static Shock" that black kids could see "themselves" as the main animated superhero saving the city. However, they still had to have a white guy invinting things for him. It wasn't like that it the comics. Maybe, they changed it to make whites more comfy watching the character. I don't know.

BTW, I don't think you're a racist. A little ill-informed, but not a racist. And at the end of the day, there is nothing wrong with asking questions when it comes to race. You should be able to ask questions and not be afraid of being labled a racist. That's how we learn. Now you know. And, knowing is half the battle. G.I. Jooooooooeeeee!

To clarify, I understand that the show is centered on Africa and for that reason the main characters are black. I know the Black Panther is black, I get all this, I just really get tired of the all or nothing feeling it seems shows like this have. Shows that are centered on black culture and/or characters seem often do not have other characters or races involved. I actually loved Static Shock, one of the best cartoons ever. I just hate making a show or cartoon about race, I say have guest spots with all sorts of Marvel extras in there. Otherwise it seems like a very shallow attempt at acknowledgement of black people to me, almost like patronizing. I know that sounds weird.

Let me say I thought one of the best shows ever done was JLU that involved John Stewart (the black Green Lantern) but nothing was ever made of it. That is what I like to see, race be equal but invisible. I am just concerned they will turn this into a story more about race than the comics.
