I can wait for this movie however...
All hands on deck, we have our first Blackbeard sighting to pass along to you. With production well under way for Walt Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, set photos have appeared online showing off Johnny Depp as Sparrow and Penelope Cruz as his potential love interest in the fourth installment. And now we have our first look at Blackbeard, the infamous pirate being played by Ian McShane. Check it out below courtesy of PopSugar and see some more set photos here.
The first Pirates adventure to be sailing the 3D waters, the adventure stars Depp, Cruz, McShane, Geoffrey Rush, Gemma Ward, Kevin McNally, Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, Sam Claflin, Stephen Graham and Yuki Matsuzaki. Director Rob Marshall and crew have been shooting on location in Hawaii and on set in Los Angeles.
Plot Concept: In this action-packed tale of truth, betrayal, youth and demise, Captain Jack Sparrow crosses paths with a woman from his past (Penelope Cruz), and he's not sure if it's love--or if she's a ruthless con artist who's using him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. When she forces him aboard the Queen Anne's Revenge, the ship of the formidable pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane), Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn't know who to fear more: Blackbeard or the woman from his past. Rush reprises his role as the vengeful Captain Hector Barbossa, and Kevin R. McNally returns as Captain Jack's longtime comrade Joshamee Gibbs. Claflin stars as a stalwart missionary, while Berges-Frisbey is transformed into a mysterious mermaid.
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides will arrive in theaters May 20, 2011.
Ok, I'm so looking forward to the summer of 2011 after this crappy summer.
I think I went to the movies three times this summer. On average, I go 7-8 times a summer season. But the summer of 2010, there were too many "not worth it" or "rental" movies.
Thor, Captain America, Pirates, Green Lantern, Deathly Hallows part 2, Cowboys and Aliens, Transformers 3. All big screen movies.
The first pirates movie was meh and went down hill after that so I have zero interest in this.
Actually, ElBaz, there were several movies I wanted to see this summer, and would have if money weren't tight right now. Can't disagree with you about the upcoming movies, though!
Oh, and as far as this movie goes, I'm kinda meh right now. I'm wary that two of the three leads aren't coming back (regardless of how people feel about those two characters in the movies), and the director isn't back. I always feel sequels work better (in general) if all parties return.

Cool, Ian McShane looks exactly as I pictured him in this role. And Penelope looks cute there. I'm liking her character a lot.
Love the Pirate movies J Depp rocks and happy we are getting a 4th. Hurry up !!!
I know sequals usually aren't as good as the originals, but I have to say Pirates is almost right up there with the Marix sequals as having a huge gap in quality and getting progressively worse.
Though I guess this one may be better than 2 and 3 since I think Bloom and Knightly's characters aren't in it.
