The WB Television Network and LEGALLY BLONDE helmer Robert Luketic are working on a series based on the adventures of a female private investigator. SPYGIRL: TRUE ADVENTURES FROM MY LIFE AS A PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR is the book by Amy Gray that's serving as the springboard for the potential TV series, although the show that Luketic is developing isn't using that particular title so far. The screenplay for the show's pilot is being written by DAWSON'S CREEK writer/producer Maggie Friedman.

Gray's book told her story of graduating from an Ivy League school, landing a job in the world of Manhattan book publishing, then quitting to begin a new career working for a private investigator agency. There, with her group of new and quirky co-workers, Gray found eerir parallels between her life as a snoop for hire and her up-and-down lovelife.
