Yikesvampires! Ghastly creatures dressed in the height of Victorian fashion, waiting to sexually fulfill the erotic fantasies of repressed damsels' lustful ids. Well, perhaps. While most audiences tend to imagine the classic Dracula mold when the word "vamp" comes up, there are actually many variations on the feared bloodsuckers. The Marvel Comics character Blade is one such creature, a half-vampire/half-human creation who actually hunts his vampire brethren. Blade, of course, can currently be seen in his second cinematic adventure starting this weekendthe Wesley Snipes starrer BLADE II. So what better time to take a look at other variations on the vampire legend? As churchgoing little lovelies everywhere expectantly wait for their dream demon to grant them eternal life and gratification, let us examine some of the alternate cinematic bloodletters out there. And of course, most of these gems can be found at your local video store...
