After months of rumors of a Dead Rising 2 in development, a source close to Eurogamer has reported that Canadian-based Blue Castle is working on a follow-up to the 2006 Capcom title released near the launch of the Xbox 360. Capcom hasn't confirmed the latest leak about farming out their title to another developer but there have been whispers that it could happen with lead producer Keiji Inafune and his team hard at work for other major titles, one of which includes Resident Evil 5.

Here's what the source had to say on the prospect of diving into the zombie gaming landscape.

"Everyone's really excited; the team has obviously seen the rumours and it's been hard to keep quiet, but they can't wait to show off the game."

No word yet on whether Frank will be the leading star in the follow-up or if Blue Castle is moving a different direction.

This would be cause to finally get a 360.  They should also make it so the game only plays on their HD-DVD drive.

Umm AMiSHPiRATE you do know that HD-DVD is a DEAD format right? they dont make them anymore and they aren't going to make any new games for the HD-DVD drive. Kinda why everyone was practically giving them away about a a year ago when Blu-Ray was named the winner of the format wars. But I cant wait for a sequel to this game. Only thing they need to fix is the way you save ur game.
