Every week it seems another classic (or not-so-classic) movie is dusted off for a new deluxe DVD edition. THE BLUES BROTHERS is not only a classic musical comedy, but a genuine cultural phenomenon that's been a part of the fabric of American life for 25 years. The film has enjoyed respectable treatment on DVD before, but the upcoming 25th anniversary DVD edition promises to be a proper tribute to the film's birthday, and Universal Studios are planning to celebrate the August 30 release in a unique way in theaters coast to coast.

On Monday, August 29, the film will be shown for the first time in High Definition and Surround sound at Mann's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. This special Anniversary event will feature an exclusive, live Q&A discussion with director/writer John Landis and the film's star and co-writer, Dan Aykroyd (who will join via satellite from Toronto). Can't get to California to see it. Well, the entire program will be broadcast via satellite to 83 theaters across the USA!

See you there and remember, the Blues will never die!
