Bob Harras To WildStorm

Ex-Marvel top man becomes editor.

By Rob Allstetter     November 16, 2001

Former Marvel Comics editor-in-chief Bob Harras has joined WildStorm Productions as a contributing editor. His duties will include overseeing a relaunch of Gen13 written by Chris Claremont.

Working from his New Jersey home office, Harras will report to Jim Lee, WildStorm's Editorial Director. His projects also include a book written by Jimmy Palmiotti.

"I'm really excited about working with Jim again," Harras says. "We have a great rapport and similar visions about comic books. I'm looking forward to putting out some good, fun comics with characters that people really care about."

Harras entered the comics industry in 1982 as an assistant editor at Marvel Comics, where he trained under Ralph Macchio. He was editor-in-chief at Marvel from 1995-1999.

"I've known and worked with Bob for almost my entire career, and I'm thrilled to work with him again," Lee says. "When he was line-editing at Marvel, I thought he was among the best in the business. He's phenomenal in terms of nurturing talent and keeping the creative process moving.

"It's good every now and then to have someone come in with an outside point of view and shake things up a little bit. I think it's exciting for everyone, especially the readers."
