Having exhausted the cop-drama territory in modern day classics like NYPD BLUE, HILL STREET BLUES and COP ROCK (on that last one we're using classic ironically), Steven Bochco is developing another cop show set in New York that tells the story of a contemporary police officer who somehow gets teleported to the year 2069.
The show is tentitivly set to air on the Fox network next fall.
"It's an interesting notion to envision a major urban center like New York 65 years down the road," Bochco told VARIETY on the announcement. "This is not science fiction. This is trying to conceptualize a relatively near-term future that's logically a function of the world we know today. I don't want to do a desperately dark world. I think it's a different world, different in ways I haven't seen dramatized. But it's not as dark as MAD MAX or anything akin to DARK ANGEL."
