On November 11th at Barker Hanger at the Santa Monica airport The Neil Bogart Memorial Fund, a division of The T.J. Martell Foundation had it's annual event Bogart Backstage, a family gala which is designed to create an original, high energy entertaining experience for families and friends.
The NBMF is dedicated to funding cutting-edge, bench to bedside research at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. They reach 7 of 10 children with cancer, leukemia and aids nationwide through a network of medical facilities and clinicians. Their finding often translate to adult cancers as well.
This year's fundraiser had performances by Aaron Carter, Lil' Romeo, Stacy Orrico and Myra and was hosted by Amada Bynes, Ron Lester and Kenan Thompson. Many other stars came to the event, including Katherine Heigl and Adam Rodriguez (ROSWELL), Michelle Trachtenberg (BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER), Steve Valentine (CHARMED), Tyler Mane (X-MEN), Beth Broderick (SABRINA THE TEENAGE WITCH), Kerr Smith (DAWSON'S CREEK), Nicole Eggert (BAYWATCH), to name a few who showed their support by manning the basketball court, the autograph booths, and other activities.
The stars posed for photos with the fans and even award winning skateboard champion Tony Hawk put on an exhibition of his talents.
Hilary Rosen, the President/CEO of the Recording Industry of America (RIAA) was presented with the prestigious Children's Choice Award for her commitment to children's issues and her long history of charitable giving and support to the T.J. Martell Foundation and The Neil Bogart Memorial Fund.
