David Bogart is leaving Harris Comics as editor-in-chief to join Marvel Comics as managing editor.

Harris subsequently has announced that Maureen McTigue will be its new editor-in-chief.

At Marvel, Bogart will work with editor-in-chief Joe Quesada and director - publishing operations Bob Greenberger on a variety of efforts, from maintaining Marvel's publishing schedule to developing new series and formats.

Bogart also will edit X-MEN UNLIMITED, which will now be published bi-monthly.

"What attracted me to Marvel? In one word: talent," Bogart says.

"Not just the talent on the books, but behind-the-scenes as well. In just a little over a year, Marvel's management and editorial staff have turned the company around. I look forward to becoming a member of the team."

"David has a reputation for working well with talent and helping them meet their deadlines, something always needed at The House," Greenberger says. "He'll be a major asset as we continually focus on delivering our books on time, as well as developing loads of behind-the-scenes projects that will help keep the rest of us sane."

"During my freelance days I had the pleasure of working with Bogie," Quesada says. "He's a fine editor and I'm thrilled to have someone with his talents and organizational skills making Marvel his home."

At Harris, McTigue will oversee the main titles of VAMPIRELLA and VAMPI, as well as merchandise and new projects.

After working in STARLOG and COMICS SCENE magazines right out of college, McTigue spent six years at DC Comics, working in both marketing and editorial, where she edited WONDER WOMAN and SECRET FILES among other titles. She has spent the last year at WizardWorld.com as Online Editor.

"When this opportunity came up, the decision to join was easy," McTigue says. "There's something intriguing about VAMPIRELLA, and I have some experience with dark-haired super-powered comics women who wear red, so it's all good."

"Maureen is perfect for the job," Harris Comics executive publisher Jonathan Rheingold says.  "Her experience, industry contacts, and her incredible taste will ensure that our books keep getting better."
