Uwe Boll has formed a new distribution company the upcoming IN THE NAME OF THE KING: A DUNGEON SIEGE TALE in two separate parts. The first part would hit theaters on Nov. 3, 2006, while the second part would arrive approximately a month later on Dec. 1, 2006.

Boll made the decision to split the $60 million film up "to support the exhibitors who can't accept a movie so long."

The film stars Jason Statham, Ray Liotta and Leelee Sobieski.

Let me be the first... "Ugh, Uwe Boll, he sucks blah blah blah" "...Hollywood go to hell blah blah blah..." "...This is going to stink blah blah blah" "... not worth my two cents blah blah blah..." These comments get so predictible nowadays.

I'm just so astounded that someone trusted him with $60 million that I can't bring myself to bash him right now. I'll get over it.

EVERYONE JUST SHUT UP AND LISTEN:

Hand me your glasses, boys and girls, for I'm popping up this champagne bottle and celebrate the end of Dr. Ub0r Boll's career on this most comical turn of events. For that absolutely risky move only, Hollywood will surely and finally lynch him. We can't hope for a better present on Christmas 2006... :P

First off, I must say that, as an independent filmmaker, I hate it when people bash a director. I remember reading posts where people would bash this guy, Uwe Boll. I looked up this director, to see his films so I could try to defend his work. When I saw that this person directed House of the Dead AND Alone in the Dark, everything made sense. One bad film, wait make that a horrible film, okay, but two back to back? Uwe Boll has had his chances, Hollywood. Don't give him anymore money to make films, until he can prove that he can responsibly produce something other than garbage. I feel bad for Statham, I look forward to his films. I wish he wasn't associated with this one. Same goes for Slater and Alone in the Dark.

I agree with jon41380. Sometimes directors are not given a good script or a proper budget. James Cameron did Pirahna 2, which wasn't bad if you like flying fish. David Fincher did Alien 3 but then went on to do the Game, Fight Club, Panic Room, etc. This is not the case for Boll, however. I'd rather see the money in the hands of other talent than waste it on a director like Uwe.

No, it's sad to say he will still get some rich prick with delusions of being a movie producer, to give him money to make his shitty movies.

The problem with Boll is that he believes the crap he makes is good. Read Harry's review of Bloddrayne on AICN (I can't believe I just typed this sentence) b/c Boll was there and talked to Harry. I included this link in the last Boll story because it tells you so much about the man. This man doesn't deserve a second chance because he will never improve because he thinks he's doing things right and well.

scoxocs - You are my new best friend.
jon41380 - I decided I would give him a chance too, then I saw one film: Homeroom: Heart of America. Terrible, terrible, terrible. Not only does he rip off of prominent filmmakers (Darren Aronofsky for one), but he can't coherently direct dialogue scenes. It's a depressingly hilarious movie, I bought it used at Blockbuster and I suggest you pick it up.

I hate Uwe Boll with a burning hatred. He represents all that is souless and wrong in the film industry.

I just want to say that if you read the last Boll story and the posts, then obviously I dislike the guy as a director, but after going and reading the article Mah19 pointed out and others, I also loathe him as a person. He is an arrogant prick, who seems to think that the reason the majority of people don`t like his movies, is because we don`t get it. He is trying to pass off his talentless soul as one of an Auteur, ahead of his time. Like after he is dead and gone, we`ll all go back and watch House of the Dead or Alone in the Dark and be like "oh my god.., pure genius!" I hate to break it to you Boll, but that will not happen. You are not a trailblazing, artist. You are not Van Gogh, or Munch.
You can only hide behind those idiots who give you money, because they`re wannabe producers for so long.
God knows how you get your actors,(jedi mind trick, maybe) Boll to Liotta:"You want to be in this crapfest movie. It will suck but you don`t care."
Boll, you frankly, just Erk me.
