The new official title for the next adventure of 007 is now called Quantum of Solace, which was taken from a collection of short stories published by source author Ian Fleming back in 1960. While at a press conference for the new reveal, Sony and MGM gave reporters a minute of footage already shot, which included a highly explosive scene shot in Siena, Italy and another scene involving M (Judi Dench) in the snow.

Some more details were given for the plot and the new "Bond girl" Olga Kurylenko also filled the media in on her preparations and her character.

"James Bond is after revenge, and Camille is after revenge and they have slightly different goals, but in the end they are going to have to collaborate," Kurylenko said.

"I'm doing weapons training and body flight training for aerial scenes and stunt work for fighting," she said. "My days are so long, and it's very physical. She's a fighter. This girl is going to kick ass. She's on her own mission and she's driven by revenge."

Gemma Arterton, who's playing a fellow MI6 agent and has already shot her love scene, was also in attendance at the press conference where she said "I felt like a giggly girl, and I felt so young and inexperienced - but I kissed James Bond!" She went on to describe her character as fresh and young, not sultry and a femme fatale".

Official  Plot: The new film sees 007 (Daniel Craig) out for revenge on a mission that takes him to Austria, Italy and South America. Bond girl Camille, played by Ukrainian-born Olga Kurylenko, leads the secret agent to Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric), member of a mysterious organization and a ruthless businessman, seeking to control huge natural resources. The plot follows on directly from Casino Royale, as Bond aims to uncover the truth about Vesper, the beauty who betrayed him, and discovers that she had been blackmailed.

Quantum of Solace will hit theaters on November 7, 2008.

I tried to pass it along but my email wouldn't go through.

So the follow up to Casino Royal deals more with Bond going after the guys that killed his girlfriend instead of some legitimate, top-secret and government issued mission?

Curse you Haggis!!!!!

But nah, since the guys are the same ones behind the big, bad syndicate of evil that he's supposed to be fighting any way, well... I guess it's no big deal. I just don't want to see Bond turned into some sapp.

Yeech. Talk about an over-the-top cryptic title. Given that the film is supposed to get deep into Bond's psyche I understand its meaning, but this is going overboard with using collegiate vocabulary.

I imagine that the title song won't have the same title, same as Casino Royale's title was "You Know My Name." I can't see how any song writer could use such a bizarre title in a song.

One thing I do like is incorporating the 007 logo into the title itself, similar to how Casino Royale's logo had the 007 logo blended in. This link has the logo displayed:

My only question with the new title is...

Does this mean that Bond is trying to put right what once went wrong?

You know, I looked up both of those words today on dictionary.com and thesaurus.com and dudes, y'know what the title translates to?

"Amount of Comfort," lol.

Considering that the only thing that really comforts Bond is killing and getting laid, maybe they're going to up the violence and sex in this one.

I thought this title was from an Ian Fleming short story he wrote. It sounded familar to me...either that or I was confusing it with Quantum Leap.

Ugh...I don't like the boyfriend looking for revenge of dead girlfriend story but whatever. If they want to stay true to Bond they should forget the girlfriend have him get married to someone else then kill her off the way Fleming meant it to happen. If you are rebooting it isn't that the way you would want to go?

Now hold on. . .in both the novels and films,
Bond is extremely vengeful. He goes after
those who are responsible for maiming his
buddy Felix Leiter and the man responsible
for the death of his bride. This is consistent
with both the literary and cinematic Bond.
Revenge is a recurring theme in the Bond
series.

da82kid: Seriously? You looked up those words on dictionary.com? Did your mom help you type in the URL?

I also tried to pass this along right after it was announced this morning but it would not go through. I sent 1 email to info@ & 1 email to scoops@ - is there a different email I should've used?

Well, I remember after reading the plot summary for Casino Royale, I thought, this doesn't sound like it will be a good action movie, but boy was I worng. I think Casino Royale was the best Bond file in a LONG time. I can not wait to see what they do with the next installment, esp. with Marc Forster directing. I actually like this title.
