Having known that Helena Bonham Carter usually shows up in a Tim Burton film and being somewhat excited about Depp being cast as the Mad Hatter last week, fans immediately began speculating whether Carter would show up as the Red Queen in Tim Burton's upcoming Alice in Wonderland. Well, those fans didn't have to wait long to find out. The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Helena is indeed set to play the Queen infamously known for her line "Off with their heads". The trade also confirmed that Anne Hathaway has joined the Walt Disney production for the role of the White Queen.
The two actresses will be joining Depp, Michael Sheen, Matt Lucas and leading star Mia Wasikowska ("In Treatment"), who's set for the title role. Burton is behind the camera, based on a screenplay by Linda Woolverton. Richard Zanuck, Joe Roth and Jennifer and Suzanne Todd are producing.
Plot Summary: Based on the Lewis Carroll classic "Alice in Wonderland," which will combine performance-capture imagery, currently seen in "Beowulf," with live-action footage. Disney released their classic animated version in 1951.
Alice in Wonderland will hit theaters March 5, 2010.
There's enough supporting rolls. They should just bring back most everybody that has been in Tim Burton's movies. Winona Ryder, Anthony Michael Hall (TweedleDee or Dum?), Albert Finney (The Walrus?), Christopher Walken..... Christina Ricci is smokin' (Just gonna throw that in)
I don't remember asking for HBC in this movie, lol

But nonetheless, its an A in my book. She is fabulous.
And great to hear about Anne Hathaway as well.
