Helena Bonham Carter may have a full schedule coming with the final two Harry Potter sequels but she will also be finding some time to shoot some scenes for the upcoming Terminator Salvation trilogy. The trade has announced that she will be co-starring alongside Christian Bale, Sam Worthington, Anton Yelchin, Bryce Dallas Howard, Moon Bloodgood, Common and Jadagrace. Director McG is leading the first installment of the new trilogy, based on a screenplay by John Brancato and Michael Ferris.

Her role is reported to be small, but pivotal. Principal photography is already underway in New Mexico with the cast and crew hoping to get a majority of the exterior shots filmed before any potential SAG strike. The trade also passed along a more specific plot concept for the first film.

Plot Concept:
Set in post-apocalyptic 2018, Christian Bale stars as John Connor, the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators. But the future Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright (Worthington), a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet's operations, where they uncover the terrible secret behind the possible annihilation of mankind.

Terminator Salvation will hit theaters May 22, 2009.

Is the secret that they have been living in a virtual world and that Skynet has been breeding humans and using them as a power source?

pony, lol. Sounds just like that. Just hope the strike doesn't affect quality here.

Okay, okay...this confirms it. I thought he was bullshitting me but I ran into Tim Burton outside a Miami nightclub the other night and I was twisted, as was he, and he said McG is only directing the first Terminator movie and that he was doing the second. No word on the third. I thought he was screwing with me.

Psyche. That didn't happen.

But I did, last night, almost get into two different barfights at two different bars. The first at a bar where the bartenders are my friends and they kicked ME out, because some A-hole called me unpatriotic because I said, "'Screw' (though not screw, if you know...) America" meaning the government more or less not America as a whole and he wanted to effing hit me with a pool stick. First of all I was in the service and he wants to pull that crap on me. And second, even though it wasn't for the war, I almost died because I was in the service. I was going to kill him.

By then I don't remember what the second bar fight at the second bar was for; I don't even remember coming home. Suprised me I was there when the alarm I set yesterday, for some reason, woke me up six this morning. Ah, alcohol. Got to love it.

Oh, I'm up for anything Terminator, though because of work I missed all of the Terminator TV series, and anything Christian Bale. So, I can't wait for this; I don't care who's directing. I wonder what and how pivotal this role could be. My curious meter just imploded.

How the hell did you get involved in TWO barfights and not get arrested? Man, you ran the gauntlet! And if Johnny Depp gets casted in Terminator Salvation 2 or 3....Well....I bet Tim Burton is really directing the sequel after McG, whether it was your drunken fantasy or not. I mean, come on....Helena Bonham Carter and Johnny Depp appearing in the same movie? Has to be Burton directing!

I don't know. And normally I'm laid back and chill. I let junk roll of my back and ignore it. Jager and Guiness will change a man, though, I know. Heh heh. The last barfight I was in was outside the bar and I knocked dude out in one punch. I was more suprised than he. It was f'd up though because he tried to hit me first but he hit the girl, my neighbor, that was standing next to me instead with his wild punch and I jumped in and clocked him. Then my girl, not the neighbor, and I took turns bashing his eye in, I was counting I was so drunk (ten times). I was puncbing, she was kicking. Before fights for fifteen years. That night was Washington Apples though (Royal Crown and apple juice). Depp's in Terminator too. I didn't read this news. I've wanted a movie with him and Bale in it and well, Oh, my God. Depp's in a Terminator movie. Oh, you said "IF"; I just got excited for nothing. I just happened to look up and saw what you actuall said.

Bar fighting is retarded. Dude, find another hobby that builds your self-esteem. You guys are cracking me up about Burton and his cast of merry characters. Depp could join the cast as the Mach 1 Terminator with scissor wielding hands to dispose of pesky humans by removing their heads and trimming their bushes. Helena scares me dude. I don't even want to comment about her.

Well, technically Johnny Depp and Christian Bale are indeed about to be in the same movie. That Michael Mann thriller about the true Untouchables, Public Enemies. Depp is John Dillinger, Bale is the F.B.I Golden Boy Melvin Purvis after him. Should be hitting theaters next year. Oh...and never mix Jager and Guiness. Or Crown Royal and Apple Juice. I still can't believe you escaped custody twice in one night. Bale (aka Batman aka John Connor aka Melvin Purvis) will be hunting after you next if you keep that streak going.

evilbeagle, you did just comment about her. MrJaw, Lay of the Jager, stick with whiskey, jager is some messed up stuff. Pony, I thought the same thing. Should I be excited for this movie? I loved The Terminator and Terminator 2 and even liked 3 quite a bit. So why am I not excited about this? Also I think Bale is great. I'm just not excited, maybe I need a trailer to get me pumped up. Oh and eagle thanks for serving, but seriously Jager is evil and really doesn't taste that great. Try some Crown Royal, very smooth.
evilbeagle 6/30/2008 4:31:56 AM
Damn, you're right. Anyway, I'm right where you are unbiased. I feel exactly the same way about all the Terminator films, but for some reason I'm not stoked about this film-even though it's finally going the direction I always wanted it to. Maybe the 3 films in a row of the same time travel riff has dulled the anticipation and we do indeed need a trailer.
