What They Say
Inspired by "Boogiepop Phantom" and Others, Yuki Kaijura (NOIR, KOR, BLOOD THE LAST VAMPIRE) transforms music into a wonderland of variety. With musical styles ranging from light jazz and piano and to pop mixes, this CD pulls from the lighter side of the series with playful musical renditions rather than the darker tones found on the Original Boogiepop Soundtrack CD.

The Review!
4 out of 5

This CD comes packaged up for the consumer with a small cover insert. The insert contains on six of its pages, quotes from Boogiepop as well as other shows that inspired the music. One page with a listing of the songs and what inspired each song. And two full pages listing the credits for the CD. And be sure not to miss the artwork featured on several of the pages.

The music that you will find on this CD came as a surprise to me. Since the tunes were inspired by Boogiepop Phantom, a richly Techno mixed sound, I expected more techno to keep me moving, However the CD is actually filled with a more classical type of music for each track. There are some songs that have an almost techno feel to them, but they are arranged as a classical piece. Overall, I think the music does get into the deep recesses of the mind that the Boogiepop series tapped, and makes a great alternative to the music that is actually featured in the show. A colorful tryst into the deep seeded emotional rollercoaster, that only a good soundtrack can provide, I was deeply satisfied with this number. The special bonus track at the end (track # 11 for those of you who really want to know) was definitely a treat to the ears of any music fan, even those non-classical in nature

Fangboy says…this one’s makes it into the mood music pile, and plays often. Good to the last note!
