What They Say
The soundtrack to the hit horror-thriller Boogiepop Phantom! This 2 disc set is packed with a collection of some of the creepiest techno-laced tunes imaginable with a solid, pumping underground groove.

From Happy End by Flare to Angel in the Dark by M.Y.K.N., the audio thrash of this roller coaster never lets you go. Boogiepop Phantom, are you ready to scream?

The Review!
4 out of 5

This CD is a two-disc set, with a total from both discs of 13 songs. This CD comes packaged up for the consumer with a small cover insert. The insert contains on one page, the list of song titles found on the first disc. One page with a listing of the songs found on the second disc. A page listing the credits for the CD, and three pages of full-page art. There is also character art on the pages with information on them. Each song list has not only the name of each individual song, but also lists the producer/arranger of each song.

Techno, tehcno, techno, Techno is back in force for this one. Though most of the tracks seem to be a bit slower than the club mixes you find on other CDs, there is no mistaking the techno strands of Boogiepop. The music reflects the themes found in the series, as it creates an atmosphere of not only mystery, but also that slight edge of suspense that keeps your heart racing. I find that the tempos seem to match the overall feel of the dark secrets found in the series. It’s hard to find a grouping of techno music that not only matches the beat of your heart, but doesn’t give you a headache at the same time, however the producers of this CD have managed to grab just the right people to portray musically the wonder and dark feeling predominant in Boogiepop.

Strangely, though I am not one for long drawn out songs, even classical tempos, can sometimes get to me, this collection seemed to be right on the money with it’s song length. Even with some songs reaching well over that five-minute mark, it just seemed to fly by, leaving me dreading those two seconds of silence between songs.

Fangboy says…this one’s makes it into the mood music pile, and plays often. Mesa Likeies, lotsa!!
