Sideshow Collectibles is now taking pre-orders for the Bossk 1:1 Scale Bust.

The life-size Bossk bust captures every pitted and weathered scale of Bossk's leathery hide, expertly reproducing the original mask used to bring life to the bounty hunter in The Empire Strikes Back. The Bossk is cast in fiberglass with a polystone skin, capturing all the detail of the original sculpture. The bust is mounted on a Star Wars inspired display base, including a 'Bossk' nameplate. The hand crafted, hand painted life-size Bossk bust is sure to become the centerpiece of your Star Wars or bounty hunter collection.

The limited edition item will ship in fall 2007 and will carry a price tag of $499.99.

Why?

I'd really like to see a George Lucas bust. Ya know, maybe one of him smiling with dollar signs in his eyes. And, of course, the red flannel shirt. The price should be $1,000,000.00 and everyone will have to buy one to watch the original Star Wars trilogy with.

$499?!? Please someone tell me if you by these things. If so what is your income and is your parents basement running out of room.

Wow..i want to pay 500 bucks for a glorified extra with no speaking part! woo-hoo! *sigh*

Just goes to prove that Sideshow Collectibles DOESN'T read our forums! Someone needs to get someone from here, over there, whack them upside the head, then drag them over to our forums on their "collectible" crap and get them to see common sense reason on their pricing scheme and item desirablity. Very few people are going to buy a Bossk bust for $500 smackers! nuff said. Now if that was a 1:1 scale statue of Moonknight about to flip off one of his moon shurikens, or DC Comic's Huntress with her arm extended about to fire off her pistol crossbow and looking sexy. Then YEAH I strongly consider it! But a head bust of something that resembles a neutered eunuch Xindi from Star Trek Enterprise - NOPE! Least it doesn't look like that constipated Jean Luc Picard bust from last week! Which reminds me ... doesn't that bust look of Bossk make him look gay compared to his masculine role on Star Wars? ;-) It's like he is trying to say, "Yoo Hoo! Solo! Hey you dashing Corellian. You want to play with my snake before I kill you?" Actually come to think of it.. Put the bust of Picard AND Bossk together and they have the same constipated look!

I could never bring myself to pay that much for a bust.....Especially for that CRAZy amount of $$$....However, I don't understand why these kinds of companies don't make detailed small scale replicas of the sets and environments from Star Wars, and price them in a reasonable manner....That I would be more inclined to buy.

well see, its like this. After Lucas gets finished adding scenes to Empire Strikes Back, Bossk will have an expanded role and then you'll certainly feel like dumping $500 on this one. LOL! actually this could be a foreshadowing of things to come, i wonder if Bossk will be featured in the live action STAR WARS TV show and they are pumping this to hype that?
jppintar326 6/5/2007 12:00:39 AM
"Let's look for Alf." Isn't that what he says in the movie?
mckracken 6/5/2007 9:30:24 PM
yeah, I'm pretty sure thats what he said. lol! still Bossk was one of the first action figures I bought from Empire Strikes Back (I still have it in a box someplace too) that and there was another bounty hunter that didnt say anything either but that actionfigure was by mail order only! George has always pimped these extra throw away bounty hunters from Empire sTrikes Back...they didnt do much of anything but stand there and look pretty ...ugly, but still, a great deal of detail was put into designing these bounty hunters, even if they were extras without speaking parts.
