Bouken Yuuki Pluster World
Adventure Script Pluster World

By Jasconius     October 24, 2003

Oh my, j-kid-rap songs, a dumb play on words that doesn't work in English, and bee-girl just made this series a joy to watch. ^_^;;

As for the title, Pluster is a play on the words "blaster" and "plus" because they are burasutaa and purasu in Japanese. It doesn't work quite so well in English, and it comes out sounding like Plaster World instead. Oh yeah, and "script" is an odd translation, but I couldn't really think of anything better for "play(theatrical)" and "record" put together. This whole anime is a mess. -_-

Our story begins with the Minujuu (Minus Monsters?) attacking a peaceful tribe of creatures in the Pluster World... apparently the Minus Monsters were sealed away long ago in the Minus Tower, but they've gotten out and have started causing trouble again. The Minus Monsters are created by combining a Minuster with an object from the human world (resulting in such great things as the chicken lighter monster...) To protect the Pluster World from the ravages of the Minus Monsters, there is a legend that the Plusters (apparently these beings with pluses on their chests) can Plust On (like Blast On) with humans to become strong! The Pluster residents are actually very small when they travel to the human world (through a crazy giant human statue) but the humans become as small as the Plusters when they travel back through. Interestingly enough, after defeating chicken lighter monster, Touma, the human that is brought to the Pluster World, actually gets to return to the human world, where only ten minutes have passed. Who knows if this will continue, but apparently in episode two, the tunnel between the worlds gets destroyed, although Touma is stuck in the human world.

This is your typical kids fare, although at least it's a little different from the other shows I've seen in the genre. Touma is a big whiner, though, so that's not exactly fun. The most disappointing thing about episode one, though, was that bee-girl barely made an appearance. I really feel like watching another episode just to hear her in action. ^_^
