Bowman Leading CASTLE For ABC

The plot concept for this new series concept "Castle" is decidedly vague but it looks like ABC is prepping a new cop series with a mixture of horror factors. Producer Rob Bowman ("X-Files") will lead the pilot for ABC Studios and Armyan Bernstein's Beacon Television shingle. Andrew Marlowe wrote the pilot and will executive produce with Bernstein and Laurie Zaks.

Plot Concept: Centers around a horror novelist who consults for the NYPD.

Hmmmm. I guess it sounds better than a romance novelist who consults with the NYPD. Looking forward to hearing a little more about the concept.
Bowman was aboard X-Files for the good years. His involvement prior to that in the latter years of The A-Team may be cause for alarm though.

I dunno what a horror novelist would contribute to the NYPD though joey?
wouldnt they be better off with a forensics writer or courtroom lawyer novelist?

so Rob, just dont go naming your character Frank Castle and we'll have no problems, ok?

If nothing else, Castle will be well-directed. Bowman was far and away the best director staffed on The X-Files, and I also really enjoyed his work on the Night Stalker remake series and Day Break. I think the concept of a horror novelist consulting with the police is a very far-fetched idea, but if done right it could be a workable show. I just loathe the thought of yet another cop procedural series.

ENOUGH! Stop making these shows with exact same unoriginal plot over and over again.

Given Bowman's past work I was thinking this would have some supernatural undertones, which would be the catalyst for the horror novelist angle.
I'm with you rgtchtiger, we need another police procedural like we need another night of American's Next Top Happy Crappy.
