Brandon Gray of BoxOffice Mojo offers some additional analysis of the weekend box office.
The bad news forSpider-Man is that it fell short of setting one last record, whichwould have been becoming the movie to gross $400 million domestically in theshortest amount of time. The web-slinger took 66 days to hit that mark, merelytying the previous record held by Titanic.
In other boxoffice news, the actual numbers Men In Black II turned outto be about $2.8 million less than what Sony had estimated on Sunday bringingits five-day tally down to $87,241,586. However, this is still a fourth of Julyrecord, although the sequel actually sold fewer tickets than its predecessor.
