'The Dark Knight' cleaned up again, ranking #1 at the box office against the relatively weak competition, according to estimates published by Box Office Mojo.
The Bat-film, now in its fourth week of release, rang up another $26million, claiming the top ranking and besting Seth Rogen's stoner movie 'Pineapple Express'. The film's domestic box office now stands at $441.5 million.
The sturdy performance moves 'The Dark Knight' up to the #3 spot on the all-time domestic box office chart, trailing behind 'Titanic' and 'Star Wars'. Give its earnings pace, it seems likely that the film will reach the #2 spot in the next few weeks, but probably won't sink James Cameron's historic tragic romance in the long run.
The movie is also now the #2 higest-grossing PG-13 movie of all time, again trailing 'Titanic'.
'Hancock' is still a top 10 movie, slipping only one position in the face of two new openings. Week six for the movie earned $3.3 million making it the #8 film. Its domestic total now stands at almost $222 million.
'Hellboy II: The Golden Army' also slips one place to #12 this week. It's domestic total is now $73.5 million, still more than $10 million shy of its budget.
