Box Office Report: One Direction Wins Labor Day Weekend

Millers remains in the top 5

I don’t think anyone saw One Direction: This is Us taking the number one spot this holiday weekend. It narrowed out Lee Miller’s The Butler, thus usurping the throne The Butler had rule for two weeks. What truly terrifies me is that We’re the Millers has nearly made three time its own budget. Yes, that means there will be a sequel.

Ray Subers of Box Office Mojo reported: “Comedy hit We're the Millers earned $12.7 million this weekend ($15.9 million four-day) for a new total of $112.9 million. This makes it the sixth Jennifer Aniston movie to take in over $100 million at the domestic box office”. See kids, if you do a strip tease in the trailer people will come and see your movie.

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones
The World’s End
Getaway (2013)
Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters

Despite the summer being over we still have some genre pics arriving in September. This week we have Riddick arriving (see the trailer below) as well as Hell Baby. So what will it be Maniacs? Riddick or Hell Baby?

We saw The World's End and thought it was fantastic.  Weird ending though.  I do wish it were doing better at the box office, but it's an instant buy on DVD.

I saw Planes.  I enjoyed it a lot.  I hope they do a WWII movie this way showing more of the battle stuff they gave us a taste for.  It would be cool to see different types of tanks, jeeps, other military types of alive vehicles.

I saw RIPD.  It was just ok not as good as men in black type movie.  It through me off to see Kevin Bacon in it, looks like he was having a great time making it.  It was in 2n run theater which was packed.  It was a fun movie, nothing to take seriously.  But Ryan Reyolds should be picking better movies for himself to do, he should have done the Deadpool movie.  Roads not taken.

Anyone hesitating to watch We're The Millers because its an Anniston movie is missing out. It is laugh out loud, tears rolling down your face funny.

But The Butler won the 4 day holiday weekend race

What scares me about We're the Miller's box office is that we won't be rid of Anniston anytime soon.

LOL! Wise.

No kidding.  I can't stand her. One trick pony.

Now Hollywood will keep labeling her as a superstar/box office gold and she will command top money.

I keep thinking of Kathryn Hegil. Can't stand her either. She was in Knocked Up  and the movie was a big hit. She assumed she was the reason, left her TV show and demanded more cash for movies. Where is she today?

What the f@#$ is wrong with Anniston?

We're the Millers is a funny movie and her strip tease part isn't even that long. She's funny, the movie is funny, what's wrong with that?

She's popular, not a superstar, big difference I think.

Disappointed The World's End isn't doing better but it was fun...not as funny as the other 2 but still fun.

Didn't see anything this weekend. Spent lots of money eating at a top of the line restaurant for a family event.

I knew One Direction would win the B.O. They are huge.

Jennifer Aniston is lovely to me. And mopre importantly she has a nice personality about her success and isn't stuck up or mean. All the best to her.

Wow. Double Wow! Just found out that Riddick will be playing at the Art-House theater! That's the movie theater for people that know how to behave themselves during a show. Plus they serve warm pretzels, sub sandwiches, that don't cost as much as the movie ticket.

Wiseguy, you know what I'm talking about. And for now I don't think the Movie Theater experience will go away.

I finally got to see Elysium, I really liked it.  And I don't see all the hate for Jennifer Aniston....she is smoking hot, plays great roles where she is funny, and does not ever come across as a bitch.  I have become a fan of hers the past couple years.

Saw Worlds End - FREAKING hilarious.... The ending threw me, but up until then I was dying.  Definitely see it if you enjoyed Hot Fuzz
