Here is the third trailer for Boxtrolls. It is still months away, but it looks like a lot of fun. The film is based on the children's novel 'Here Be Monsters' by Alan Snow. It looks right up our alley Maniacs!
Synopsis: A young orphaned boy raised by underground cave-dwelling trash collectors tries to save his friends from an evil exterminator.
The Boxtrolls features the voice talents of Elle Fanning, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Ben Kingsley, Jared Harris, Tracy Morgan, and Toni Collette. The film is directed by Graham Annable (ParaNorman) and Anthony Stacchi (Open Season).
The Boxtrolls opens September 26th, 2014.

Wow, that is beautiful stop motion. I assume its stop motion and not CG made to look like it. It oloks like a great family film. Boys would love to be raised by cool mysterious creatures and have fun with them.

Wasn't there going to be another movie made based on a book about a boy raised by ghosts?

I can't say I have any interest in seeing this movie, but I will say the second trailer they released for this (I saw it in front of Lego Movie) was hands-down one of the best trailers for a movie I have ever seen.  It was set to the song "He's got the whole world (In His Hands)" and it started with nothing but behind-the-scenes footage of the making of the stop motion models from the inner mechanics of the models to the painting, the many many different model heads they need for different lip movements and even the scaled city streets set.  It was just refreshing and different to see something that I'd bet the general audience has never even thought about when it comes to making these types of films.

Monkeyfoot, you need to check out the trailer I mentioned.  It should be on youtube.  Definitely worth the time to watch.

Redhairs, just looked at it. Double WOW! That was fantastic! I hadn't thought about seeing this at a theater but doing a trailer that shows the care and craftsmenship that went into the making of the movie got me excited to pay for a ticket!

Same here, I saw the behind the scenes trailer in front of Lego Movie. That trailer alone has me at the theatre for this one! Besides the fact that I love stop-motion as well lol.

Yep, I saw the same thing you guys are talking about in front of Lego.  Impressive, to say the least.

Reminds me of something Tim Burton would make.
