The hardest working man in Hollywood, Guillermo del Toro (Pacific Rim), is going to see yet another one of his projects come to light. Only this time it will be on FX. Del Toro and Carlton Cruse (LOST) on working on an adaptation of of del Toro’s co-written trilogy of books known as The Strain. FX has announced that they plan to give The Strain a full 13 episodes for its first season.
The “first season of the show that focuses on the outbreak of a vampire virus. Corey Stoll will star as Dr. Ephraim Goodweather, the man tasked with investigating the virus and saving the day”.
The trilogy has also been adapted into a comic series by Dark Horse. Here is the synopsis (via Dark Horse Comics) of the first trade paper back “Unable to kill the Master—the powerful vampire behind the epidemic infesting New York City—Dr. Ephraim Goodweather begins to self-destruct as battle lines are drawn.
