If you are not a Whovian, they you may not understand the ramification of this rumor. See it has long been believed that 106 episodes of the original Doctor Who series had been lost. They were aired and then the tapes were wiped clean for other programming. Several weeks ago, rumors began to surface that 90 of the lost episodes had been found. These rumors had been quickly dismissed.
In the last 48 hours a new hope has been given to Doctor Who fans by archivist Ian Levine. Once a denier that these episodes existed somewhere, he is now stating these episodes were in the hands of former BBC archivist Phillip Morris.
He recently tweeted: “I've just been given proof that backs up the entire story, from 2011. So yes I now really believe he has found 90 missing episodes,”
More news on these lost episodes is expected to arrive before the end of the year.
Doctor Who celebrates its 50th anniversary this year November and a gift of 90 episodes from its past would be a welcomed gift to all fans of the series.
