In an interview with Rotten Tomatoes, Brandon Routh talked about the upcoming Superman Returns sequel.

"Bryan [Singer] said at Comic-Con they were going to add some more fighting elements and stuff like that," said Routh. "That might be kind of interesting to throw some punches or throw something, I don't know, a little more active."

"I think I've got a while. We probably won't start for another at least six months. They've got to get things written so I'm still in the gym. I still work out a little bit but certainly not as much as I had been."

"I'm extremely excited, even though I don't know what the story's going to be, to find out what the story's going to be and excited for them, Bryan, Dan [Harris] and Mike [Dougherty] to go start writing and continue the story. I'm excited to see what happens, where the characters are going to go."

Every story about supes brings in tons of posts, and they are bitterly devided between those who loved it and those who harted it with a dash of those on the fence. I am in that last group mostley because although this movie did not go where I wanted it to go, I still had goosebumps when that music hit and genuinely enjoyed some aspects. If they can take what was right about SR and add the right villain it could become something quite special. SR was more of a tribute to Superman than a new movie, but did accomplish what it set out to do, which was restart the series so we have a new jumping point. I hope Singer is reading our feedback and monitoring the reaction to the first, so this sequel is not just a tribute as well. With todays effects we can really let Supes loose. I am hopeing for Darkseid... I can't get that fight from Justice League Unlimited between Supes and Darkseid out of my head. The one where Supes says he lives in a cardboard world and it takes all his restraint just to keep from destroying it, then he just lets go. For an animated series that was amazing, and oddly exactly the Supes that I think fans are looking for.

I hope they can get even gay'er for the next one. I hope they learned their lesson about telling a good story for the next one anyway. I still have not met one person that said it was a good movie.

I also thought it was a pretty good movie, but just like Madmaniac said, I wish it would have went someplace a little closer to the Supes in JLU.
Nice to meet ya too Dazz

Superman Returns was easily and without question the single best film I've seen all year. I saw it 6 times and loved it. It was a perfect film. It told a smart, emotional and very original Superman story and had lots of action and lots of emotion in equal measure (the way it should have been!), and the cast was spot on perfect in the roles. Routh, Spacey, Huntington, and Bosworth were all perfectly cast. I simply can't wait for Superman VI !!

I thought SR was good. Not as fantastic as I expected from Singer, but fun. I can't wait to see what he does w/ #2. Remember what he did with the X franchise once he got past the 1st movie intro?

Look, here's a recipe for better box office: Shorten the sequel, it doesn't need to be 3 hrs long (although I didn't mind that at all). Throw in more action. Nothing crazy for crazy's sake...but definitely more action for crackheads in the audience. And for the love of God, give Supes someone to punch out in the next flick...someone he can go toe to toe with.
