I don't know cYnical21,

I'm hearing the role as being described in some places as filling the void left with Batman in hiding. That implies Selina Kyle will be costumed in some kind of way, I would assume. Maybe its a matter of semantics as to whether she'll actually be called Catwoman by anyone in the movie, much the way Harvey was not really referred to as Two Face after being scarred (at least I don't remember he being)

I'm just looking forward to a Batman movie where Bane isn't some mindless thug with no lines.

What no Halle Berry!!!! :-)

Anne Hathaway will be solid as Catwoman, but Tom Hardy needs to gain some SERIOUS mass if he's going to play a non-CGI-enhanced Bane.

But this does seem to suggest that there will at least be a SOMEWHAT super-powered villain in a Nolan Batman film, which is good news.  Bane is no Black Adam on a power scale, but his Venom does make him particularly powerful, bordering on metahuman.

I'm excited and encouraged by this news.

I like the idea of Anne Hathaway in anything, because I love her and think she's a fantastic actress.  I notice other news sights are pointing out the fact that the press release doesn't ever mention Catwoman, though, which brings up the interesting idea that Selina may not don a costume.  I have trouble believing that (similar to how Venom wasn't confirmed to be in Spider-Man 3 until the second or third trailer was released), but it's an interesting idea.

I find the announcement of Bane shocking.  Besides the fact that I don't see Tom Hardy as Bane (probably the lack of muscle), I don't see what interest the character holds for Nolan.  He's generally been portrayed as a brute, even though I know he was introduced as a master schemer in the comic.  Maybe I'm still smarting from how poorly Bane was handled in the generally atrocious "Batman and Robin," but I'm not excited by his announcement at all.

I admit as good an actress as Anne Hathaway is, she wasn't my first choice as well.  I would've chosen Rachael McAdams.  However, it will be interesting to see what Hathaway will bring to the role.  I think she'll surprise some people, including some of us maniacs and will likely do a great job, especially given Nolan's great direction that will be backing her.  TDKR 2012 BITCHES!!! LOL!!!

This is awesome.  I love Anne Hathaway, and can easily picture her as Catwoman (even though some of you are having a hard time with it.)  I concede that they say "Selina Kyle" and not "Catwoman", but my money is on both.  At the very least I say she will appear in a cat-burglar outfit if not the full-up suit.  (And you know what, that is fine with me.)

Never in a million years would I have thought that Bane would appear in a Nolan Batman movie.  Had you asked me yesterday, I would not have been for it.  Now that it has been announced, that's forced me to think about it a bit, and yeah, this could work.

I think we may get our first faithful interpretation of both Catwoman and Bane, and that makes me all giddy inside!

If you don't think Hardy can be bulky enough for Bane, watch the movie Bronson.

And Anne Hathaway's shown her sexiness in "Havoc," and her action side in "Get Smart."

In Nolan I also trust, and won't bash the casting decisions the day they're announced.

The Dark Knight Rises 2012 bitches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We all said the same thing about Ledger as Joker, I think it's safe to say no matter what your thoughts he did a pretty damn good job.

In Nolan we trust!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 @ ripum853

Or, you can see Hathaway naked a few times in "Love And Other Drugs".
