With the release rapidly approaching for The Twilight Saga: New Moon and filming already in the can for the third installment, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (wrap party was at the end of October), the media has continued asking for the status of the final novel, "Breaking Dawn."

From the stars to Summit Entertainment officials to screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, everyone has stayed silent on what exactly is happening with the final film's development. Until now.

While at Friday's "New Moon" press conference, Steve "Frosty" Weintraub at Collider played the part of a junket moderator's worst nightmare by not only posing the question once but twice to the two leading stars. One went to Kristen Stewart who didn't even receive a chance to answer before she was cut off by the moderator saying "Next Question."

The next opportunity was the very end of the conference with Robert Pattinson and he did answer as to when Breaking Dawn was scheduled to begin shooting.

Check out his answer here.

Obviously, this window of shooting the next film could change for Summit but it should be noted that the novel does take place during the fall and winter months so the tentative time frame will likely correspond with that scenario. As a rule, even when a film isn't officially green-lit (which is the case with the fourth film), producers will still alert the actors to keep their schedules open for a certain period of time. As is the case here with Pattinson.

As part of the press conference coverage, George 'El Guapo' Roush at Latino Review also passed along what Kristen Stewart had to say on being part of the popular series. You can check it out here.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon will hit theaters November 20, 2009.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse will hit theaters June 30, 2010.

Is the book even out yet?  And it's the final book?  She's only doing 4?  Help me out here, Starlight, our resident guide on all things Twilight...

Sure thing, fft. The final novel in the series, Breaking Dawn, was published August 22, 2008. There's only 4 in the series though there is some questions that remain on the final novel being adapted. Like Harry Potter's final novel, there's a lot of material inside it and it's most definitely the largest of the series. A theory on the lack of greenlight and relative silence between editors is that Summit and screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg are currently deciding on whether to split the final adaptation into 2 movies(Much like Warner Bros. is doing with Deathly Hallows).

wait....possibly 2 movies? cool!

ah yes, thanks should be offered to Jarrod for filling in...he obviously has been paying attention

did the drug test yesterday, got a paper that said come back November 24th....

I thought I'd be starting out this Monday...hey it's fine, I'll be able to see New Moon on opening night as originally planned!

oh, and you gotta remember fft....I've still only read the first two novels....so far

I was watching the (what else) Twilight Weekly Spotlight yesterday on Reelz Channel....and those sonofabitches were talking about the preferred involvement of JJ Abrams, Tim Burton, and a few others for the director's chair for Breaking Dawn....

now i like Burton....but no Tim, you can't do this.....you broke down crying during the filming of the happy flashback sequence in Sweeny Todd

Abrams -- no...absolutely not, hell no, bury that man witch

why not just bring back Hardwick, or does that make too much sense?

Whenever I see Dawn in the title of an article I figure it's some cool Red Dawn info, hell at this point I'd settle for Dawn of the Dead. Thanks for nothing Jarrod P. :)

Starlight, do remember you made a deal to watch the latest Star Trek film on DVD.

Hah, Chops..The caps would have been RED DAWN. Not "Breaking" there. But you are welcome, sir. :)

I haven't forgotten Sarafin -- but I must admit I'm checking out those who perform past life regressions for after I see the movie to help restore me to a more perfect sense of mind....maybe they can help me forget Enterprise too

I know it's coming soon....just wait a little longer, I intend to (finally) buy a Blu-Ray player after I get the new job

JarrodSarafin 11/7/2009 4:48:28 PM

Bahh, Starlight. While I most certainly have some beefs with the latest Star Trek, it's not that bad. Not enough that you'll need restore your brain functions afterwards.

At the very least, I'm pretty sure you'll get a kick out of Karl Urban's performance as Bones. He does an outstanding job in the reboot. Enough so that it's easier to ignore most of the annoyances.

glad to see they are shitting this out fast - just like diarrhea. better this than the sloooooowwwwwww paaaaaain of it being filmed on and on and on and on. maybe the acting, directing, cgi and writing will improve in that short amount of time. complete train wreck.

StarlightGuard 11/8/2009 6:43:20 AM

look Jarrod, a new Twilight hater :) welcome to Mania OrangeRush (and I do mean that sincerely)

so would you also say this back to back filming, aka "get it out there as quick as we can," is disgusting?

yeah, in some ways I'd agree

but would you also call out such production shoots on, say, Back To The Future Part 2 and 3? Matrix 2 and 3? Lord of the Rings, as it was 3 movies back to back? The Hobbit, which is back to back?

Granted Jackson's movies are an exception here to the rule...but it is still filmed back to back to cut down on expenses and such...

so will you also compare them to gastro-intestinal maladies? or is it just more interesting to bash on Twilight?

yeah, getting it out there as fast as possible can be disastrous -- but Hollywood doesn't see it that way for anything....Hardwick is (so far) the best director, the acting (for the most part) was fine, the cgi was nicely understated for Twilight (not so sure for New Moon yet) and, as stated earlier, the writing was mostly fine for the first installment....there's not much I'd change about the first script, we'll have to wait and see about New Moon and beyond...

StarlightGuard 11/8/2009 6:46:26 AM

oh yeah, hey fft....there's two "versions" (not really) of Breaking Dawn -- the only difference is one has a live dvd (I believe) of a concert that performs the music from the first soundtrack

take the wife to see it...New Moon that is....she'll probably want some afterwards....ignore the "oh Jacob" mutterings and everything will be fine.....after all, Hanso got over it, but then he did spend some time going "oh catwoman" in his lovely wife's ear
