MUMMY action star Brendan Fraser is in contract talks to give his voice to the superheroic character of
BIG BUG MAN. While other movie studios have abandoned cel animation in favor of computer generated imagery, Studio-Free Studios is courting all the available free animators around Los Angeles to come work on their project.
If his deal goes through Fraser will play a role he's familiar with, that of an average worker who, through the mechinations of his corrupt boss at the candy company that he's employed at, gains the abilities of insects after they've bitten him. The movie's script was written by Bob Bendetson, one of the owners of Studio-Free and also the co-director for the film. Bendetson will share directing duties with Peter Shin.
Surprisingly,
BIG BUG MAN will also feature the voice of Marlon Brando, the legendary screen actor that recently passed away. Brando recorded a supporting part for the film before his death last week.
The creators of
BIG BUG MAN want to have the film in theaters before the end of 2005. The company has plans for three more animated films plus an additional six live-action features.
