It seems that the trio from the original film will reunite for THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS 4. Moviehole reports that Jordana Brewster will be reprising her character alongside the recently cast Vin Diesel and Paul Walker for this next installment in the franchise. In the original film, the actress played the sister of  Dominic (Diesel) and the love interest of Brian (Walker). The site also reveals the story concept for this next film being directed by Justin Lin.

Plot Concept: Brian (Walker) is freed from prison (the authorities found out that he let Diesel go at the end of the first film) to help the feds stop a heroin importer known as Braga. With the help of an informant named James Park, Brian and Dominic win a place on the criminal's team, where they plan to catch the man red-handed.

Wait,... WTF? So are they pretending that 2fAST2Furious never happened? At the end of it, both his and his boy`s records were cleaned for bringing down Cole Hauser`s character. Why the hell would Brian be in jail? That concept makes no sense. What they should do is bring Cole Hauser`s character back and have him go after Brian for what he did to him. Have Tyrese`s character get killed in the beginning and have Brian go looking for Dominic(Diesel) for help. That would be a decent flick.

I say bring back Vin, Paul Walker, Tyrese, Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez, Bow Wow, Lucas Black and the girl who played Black's love interest in Tokyo Drift. I have read the brief press release capsulating the story for the new movie...and I am telling you, believe it or not, the story idea that I have eclipses that concept, and any script in this series of films combined. If you think a story about a drug dealer is interesting, "wew"...you ain't seen nothin' yet. I trump that one with something truly spectacular. As I said in my last post (under the recent article about the possible Riddick sequel), my outline is a high concept block buster take on Fast And The Furious, one that can be easily pulled off on the same budget of any of the other films, well...save for one major sequence, but it would serve to put this franchise on top of the box office again. I would sure like to pitch it to the studio...but getting past the white noise of industry politics these days is a real challenged these days, like walking a mine field.

I loved the first and third....2 Fast was just ok.....I am totally up for this and really hope the up the action ante to make it more impressive. It is very cool that after two movies without the original cast, they are coming back. If i was them, I would pretend that 2 Fast 2 Furious didn't happen either.

Although the following has nothing to do with Fast and The Furious...and its next sequel...I just had to say it...since it is Vin Diesel related: You know, I just pulled out my copy of Riddick again...and the movie is just as horrible, if not worse, than I originally recalled. The film needs a serious and radical re-edit. If they cut out the planetary invasion scene by the Necromongers...which was completely botched...and splice the edit so that the film opens as usual with the brief montage informing us about the Necromonger threat...followed by Riddick escaping the Mercs who were sent to capture him. Once he heads back to civilization...immediately upon arriving and shaving his hair, a new edit should feature his capture by the second group of Mercs, led by his old enemy, the lead Merc. Elsewhere, we cut to the Necromonger seerers who warn their leader to hunt down and kill Riddick who bares a threat to him. Cut to Riddick as he arrives on the prison planet Crematorium...(PS, they need to cut down most of the prison scene which was annoyingly, and unnecessarily, over long)...and immediately introduce us to a grown up Jack, the girl that Riddick saved in Pitch Black, and then (after Riddick kills one of the guards with the tea cup) move to the escape sequence from the planet...at the end of which, Riddick runs into the Necromongers for the first time, in the new edit, this, as they, the Necromongers, square off with the fleeing prison guards in the hanger. A re-shoot should fill-in space in the middle of the movie. Maybe Riddick hires some Mercs to help him break into the Necromongers flag ship, promising to lead them to a stash of Gold and other precious minerals that he has heard are aboard the vessel,, this in exchange for their help. We see a good old fashioned heist play-out led by Riddick, who is now falsely assumed dead by the Necromongers. Eventually, Riddick breaks away from the others to find Jack...who by this time has become the lead villian's sex slave...one with split loyalties. Soon, the Mercs are discovered aboard the vessel--during a running gun battle, they flee the ship with their stolen booty, leaving Riddick behind to be captured by the Necromongers...where he learns his destiny to destroy their leader. The rest of the movie would play out as originally shot, however, I would redo alot of the special effects which seem like they were done on an old Video Toaster. I think this would make a better cut of the film...and make it flow much better. Yes, we would lose the footage of Keith David...but the way the movie is presently edited, it is just a boring, and often slow moving, and ugly looking mess. Save for the brief twist ending, which is great...this movie isn't what it should be...by a long shot. Oh, and one more thing...as the camera is pulling back in the end shot to show the crowds of Necromongers, I'd CG the shot and add in tens of thousands...then millions, and billions of Necromongers, crowding the area aboard the ship's throne room...which would be a super massive arena or stadium looking construct. Cut to close-up of Vin Diesel: "You keep...what you kill"--The End

Point Break but with cars. I read that somewhere when the original FAST came out. Now they are going for a fourth one but still no Point Break sequel. Anywaya, FAST movies are enjoyable, but Ponyboy is right, the concept doesn't make any sense after 2FAST. Plus, what are they going to do with this 4th film? Drag, Laps, and Drift racing were all ready covered in the previous films. What else is there left in underworld racing? I hope they bring back Brian's Toyota Supra from first movie.

I lost interest after the first one. I actually tried watching the beginning of Tokyo Drift the other day, just as a gag. I made it to where the kid shows up at his uncle's door and couldn't take it any more. Btw, I've thought Brewster was smokin' ever since I saw The Faculty. Always thought she looked a lot like Demi Moore did at her age, but hotter.

I've only seen pieces of any of the Furious movies. They just don't hold my interest. Jordana Brewster, however does. I'm surprised she isn't seen in alot more movies. Not only hot but a good actress.

The last two movies sucked so why not screw up any feelings about the first one. Getting the three together is a good idea, having a good story would make for a good movie. And yet how many times has that happened in Hollywood.

I posted my plot for a fast and furious sequel a few years ago when they were talking about the third sequel, before the script was written for tokyo drift. My idea to bring all the characters back was a prison transfer where Vince from the first movie gets transfered to florida and ends up on the same cell block as cole hauser. they realize they have a common goal to get paul walker back. at the same time walker re connects with brewsters character and start a little romance together. Vince and cole hauser break out of jail and learn about the new couple. They kidnap brewster and to get her back paul walker has to do a couple jobs for them (obviously involving driving) but with the intention of killing him by the end. he realizes it can't be done my himself so he asks for help from Toretto and tyrese bringing back characters from both movies. I dont see a need to bring anyone back from tokyo drift because toretto wasn't really apart of the plot and it is separated from the other two movies. if anyone were to come back from tokyo i would bring back his father.
hanso 11/21/2007 11:32:41 AM
nah, they should make the film take place before tokyo drift and bring back Hans. that way they can show him when he was into American Muscle cars and running with Doms crew.
