Brian Griffin NOT Dead?

Family Guy Character Not Gone

The Latest on Family Guy from Mania

Did anyone else think that after the credits rolled on Family Guy that Brian was truly dead? they have killed off characters before with outlandish gags but they were always back the following week. It was until I started to see news stories that he might be in fact dead. Which is so strange because Family Guy creator, Seth MacFarlane does the voice to Brian, as well as many other characters, and he isn’t going anywhere. I also thought this was a stunt to see if fans were actually paying attention.

Variety is reporting that Brian may not be dead for long.

“a website,, has already popped up. It has a countdown, set to go off at the end of next week, but offers no other details”.

“Fueling the fire, ‘Family Guy’ executive producer Steve Callahan teased E! Online with ‘our fans are smart enough and have been loyal to our show for long enough, to know that they can trust us. We always make choices that always work to the greatest benefit of the series.’ And TV Line astutely noted that the plot for the December 15 Christmas episode has Stewie hatching a plan to get “the one and only thing he wants for Christmas.”

I wouldn't be totally surprised if they bring Brian back via a X-Mas miracle or Stewie building a new time machine. But to be honest I don't think they'll do either. I'm thinking they'll stand by their decision to kill off the character, maybe I'm just not cynical enough

Judging by the internet reaction the following day, it's clear that people are watching and paying attention!

I've been watching Family guy since the beginning, I stuck thru the 2 cancellations and was one of the many fans who bought the first couple of seasons on DVD to help resurrect the show, it's gotten duller over time but they still manage to pull a few laughs from me every week.  Sunday's episode was the very first episode that pulled few tears too, I'm a dog lover and I've lost a few in my life and it's the hardest thing to get over, I don't have kids and never will so dogs are my kids!!  I hope he's not dead because I love that character, I love that they keep so many elements of his character as a dog despite the fact that he's a well spoken aspiring writer, he still gets distracted by tossing a ball and feels compelled to eat vomit haha!!  If he is dead, then I will be sad but I won't abandon the show.

I'm gonna do as Steve Callahan suggests and be a loyal fan and trust the show..........

Stewie clones him but the cloned Brian doesn't have the same personality as the original.

They'll have Benedict Cumberbatch be a guest and then they will just give him some of Khan's blood.  Problem solved...

I predict they will bring him back at some point.  Might be a year, or it could be next week.

I'll bet they'll bring him back in some hilarious yet heart-warming way in an episode called (just off the top of my head), "The Road to Brian" or something, giving Stewie and Vinny one road trip style adventure together.  That said, even if they don't, I hate to say that I'm not sure I care.  I have loved Family Guy since it first started, and like Wish I bought the DVD's of the first few seasons before it got resurrected on television, but the last couple seasons especially it seems like they have been more focused on trying to be edgy instead of being funny or clever.  I'm actually a much bigger fan of American Dad these days.

By the by, Fox and everybody associated with Family Guy in any official capacity claims that the website about Brian's announcement is a hoax, not connected in any way.  We'll see.

My impression with all the news and web stuff I read was that he is dead for was a sad episode indeed.

Totally not the same now that Brian isn't there anymore.

By the end of the show I was diggin' Vinny anyway.

RIP Brian

Mabye Seth was tired of being told he sounded like the dog from Family Guy.

Crucifying pickles.  The entire Native American segment.  Classic.

I think the clue is in who was driving the car.  Who knows?  It is a stunt and, most likely, will work.  How many times has Kenny died?
