British game industry drying up?

An article by the British publication The Sunday Times has speculated the the British gaming industry may be on the verge of "Game Over".

With the recent delays in the European launches of new consoles, many British publishing houses will not have a strong Christmas lineup and that could prove to be financially ruining to those companies.

"The problem is the transition is not fast enough for Britain's software developers and publishers depending on a Christmas launch of Xbox. It has been delayed until next year," states the article.

There is some hope that the GameCube and Xbox launches will re-vitalize the industry in Britain next year.
