Ten bucks says this is the Sean Connery part reworked to make it work for another actor. Which is fine with me as long as they are not recasting Henry Jones.

I don t know what to think anymore, Connery character can t be replace, it will be no Indy father, but it can be some kind of mentor, an old father friend...i beleive

I'm not actually all that worried about Connery not being in the film. After all, he wasn't in the first two.

I could see Broadbent playing a quirky professor similar to Brody but less likely to get lost in his own museum.

I miss Brody getting lost in his own museum.
This is great casting news. I still have my concerns, because I just can't see Indy in the '50's, but everything else seems to be clicking together nicely.
And Pryde, no thanks. Sucker bet.

"... who may or may not be playing Indy's son..."

well, as usual, I guess that was a surprise that was spoiled months ago in casting reports.

ugh.

still, it's gonna be a fun movie, I'm sure of it. I wonder if they're going to make Shia do the lion's share of the action. (I've been sayin' for years that kid is good...) Can't wait to see Indy crackin' the whip.

This movie is a mistake! A MISTAAAAAAKE!!!!

I don't usually like to forecast doom and gloom on a picture this early, but this just doesn't feel right. Indy in the Fifties? Who's he going to be fighting, HUAC? Gout? And while LaBeouf is a good actor, he tends to play the same sort of personality each time, and I don't really see him as a convincing adolescent from the 1950's. And let's face it--Ford's star power has been on the wane for about a decade now. There's real potential for him to embarrass the role that made him (even more) famous.

This is all wrong. All wrong.
