I really am looking forward to this movie, I loved the Rambo movies when I was a kid. But this sounds a bit like Rambo meets Commando. Maybe when Swartzi gives up on politics they will make Rambo vs.Commando!

I sure hope Sly can still pull this character off...

This movie actually sounds a little like Commando. At least the part about him going after his daughter.

bringing back aged chatacters is an interesting concept, after Frank Miller is done with the Sin CIty he could make a good RoboCop flick and then team with rodriguez, tarantino & tIM bURTON for Michael Keaton in THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS.Hell different looking drawings of characters come out at the same time every monnth why not do the same with a movie. Bring Nolan & Goyer in for flashbacks with Christian Bale.

Given the events of R3, I guess they figured obvious enemy du jour would be kind of awkward.

I agree with you, ponyboy76, I had the same impression.

I've never watched a Rambo movie. I've never watched any of the Rocky series either. BUT, even still, I am curious to see how this develops and glad to hear that this series is making a come back.

AND I'll be sure to check out Rambo and Rocky sometime soon (they originally came out when I was very young and I was too wrapped up in Star Wars and Transformers at the time).

I loved rambo, but this stinks of 80's action flick with lame plot. Hope I'm wrong, but I'm not sure I care. Don't really need another Rambo movie in my life. They should have stopped after 2, and that was no where near as good as First Blood

Keaton as Batman is wrong on every level

Stallone sucks. The Rambo movies are some of his only watchable films, and with his movies going straight to video en masse as of late, he his desperately working on sequels to movies that did well (albeit decades ago). I don't think he will be able to pull off another Rambo movie, unless his character will be that of a soldier hobbling around with a walker.

If they are bringing back John Rambo for another kick at the can, I just wish someone in Hollywood would bring back Sho Kosugi action movies and have him reprise his role as The Ninja!

Ninjas never go out of style as well as pirates, and don't get me started on that verses battle :)

80's action flicks were not all that bad almostunbiased, at least they were far more entertaining than Disney films and teen flicks like The Breakfast Club shown at around the same time as far as I'm concerned :-)

I rather go and see American Ninja than Molly Ringwald in Pretty In Pink. :)

I really liked "FIRST BLOOD" but none of the other Rambo movies. Its too bad richard Crenna passed away, he was great but BROLIN ROCKS! you cant GET any better than him! Brolin and Sly team might actually work well. Robert Forester would also rock as well!
