There's some interesting stuff that actor Bruce Campbell had to say to The Seattle Times newspaper this week. Campbell spoke with a Times reporter about the Seattle screening of Don Coscarelli's BUBBA HO-TEP, that Elvis Presley/Jack Kennedy versus a 3,000-year-old Egyptian mummy movie we've been hearing about. The legendary chin of the EVIL DEAD films said that there's already talk of a sequel (or maybe even a prequel) and where it could take place...
""It's 'Bubba Sasquatch' we were working on," Campbell told the Times. Elvis in the Pacific Northwest, searching for the legendary Sasquatch? "Come on, man! I'm-a find me that bigfoot, baby," Bruce adds.
And it looks like where there's smoke, there fire. Remember those rumors about New Line Cinema thinking about a possible ASH vs. FREDDY vs. JASON movie, starring Campbell's classic character from Raimi's EVIL DEAD films? It looks like the rumors may be grounded in reality.
"Some executives at New Line are getting (excited) for that idea which makes a lot of sense," Campbell told the paper. "But Ash has not been contacted to see what his franchise rate is. Funny thing is, it's actually a really cool idea, as long as there could be a satisfying end to that particular movie. There'd be no point for Ash to participate unless he could kick some major franchise ass."
