Spoiler Warning for Batman readers: Take this as a rumor for now, without confirmation, but it's still interesting news none the less after what happened to Captain America. Comic Book Resources have indicated that Bruce Wayne may be departing his comic-based world very soon according to this report. Scroll down to the first headline and see what could be happening in June of 2008 for DC Comics.

Big thanks to Scooper Daforce for passing this bit along..

Stupid. What's with killing comic book characters off?! They live for 50+ years and then think they should add something real?

Lame!

And how many robins are there?! sheesh....

This is such a bad idea and its even worse that it is reported as a half ass rumor. Knightfall was shit when it came to storylines and keepin BATMAN but doin away with a major part of what makes BATMAN who he is is just ignorant marketing thinking. We have seen Bruce Wayne fighting many times in comics, tv and film and it was Bruce who trained to be Batman so you need the 2 moods of the man. One who knows how the night works and lives among everyone else and vice versa.

So what will be the outcome? Joker pursues stem cell research to cure his madness and injects himself with Bruce Wayne's DNA and becomes the new mayor of Gotham by acquiring the Wayne fortune and does more for Gotham than Wayne and Batman cant do anything because he faked his death and thats a crime and we dont want Batman accused of fraud now would we.?

If Wayne were to die... Robin taking over the mantle is a cool idea.... it's totally ripping off what Marvel is doing with Cap... but still cool. Besides, does anyone seriously f@#$ing think that Wayne will stay dead... everyone knows that no one stays dead in the comics....

If Batman were to die, it's likely Dick Grayson or Robin would take over for him, so that's no shock. But come on guys, you KNOW this isn't for real. If he dies, he'll be back within a year. Just like when his back was broken, or when Superman died, or when Diana Prince stopped being Wonder Woman, or when Hal Jordan became Parallax, or when Spiderman's costume changed, or when...

DC jumping the band wagon, they tried this before with Knightfall, and it too was jumping onto the success of Superman's death, then Green Lantern went rogue, so my only question is, what will DC do next to screw the reading public ove. . Well have a listen to my theory in my podcast tomorrow at this link.

Podcast? You have a podcast? That has got to be the nerdiest thing I ever heard. Do you sound like the pimply faced kid on the Simpsons? Because I bet you do. Fucking nerd. And I consider myself a nerd, but damn cmon, really! What do people download your podcast then workout to it? HAHAHA yeah right.

Also, no way in hell this is true, they are not going to kill one of their best selling titles, even if someone else takes the mantle, especially not the same month that the movie comes out, that would be retarded. Of course they've done dumber things...

"it's totally ripping off what Marvel is doing with Cap" You don't read many comics do you? If this is ripping off Marvel, then Marvel ripped off DC for what it did with Supes and the Bat decades before.

I must really be out of times then because I never recall DC completly changing the face of their comic lines by pitting their hero's against each other and then assasinate their greatest hero. But you probably know best.

And back on point. This will fail like all hairbrained ideas that DC tries with thier titles. I give it 7 months of extremely low sales and Wayne is back. But with a slow introduction of a mysterious character in the shadows. Very unpredictable.
