After nearly three decades of being in front of the camera, actor Bruce Willis is getting ready to step behind the camera for the first time. Variety reports the star making his directorial debut with the indie psychological drama Three Stories About Joan. Willis will be taking a supporting role in the movie as the father of Camilla Belle's title character with Kieran Culkin co-starring. The screenplay was penned by Christopher Alexander and Sam Applebaum and production is scheduled to start shooting in Shreveport, Louisiana starting early next month.

Plot Concept: The
story centers on a young woman at three points in her life and the family tragedies that cause her to lose her grip on reality.

Willis' next film in front of the camera is the upcoming futuristic thriller The Surrogates, which will be hitting theaters November 20, 2009. Based on the Robert Venditti graphic novel, the story is set
in a futuristic world where humans live in isolation and interact through surrogate robots, a cop (Willis) is forced to leave his home for the first time in years in order to investigate the murders of others’ surrogates.

The actor is also still rumored to be up for the role of Col. Hannibal Smith in The A-Team, though we have yet to hear back on it.

I love it when a plan comes together. Willis would make a good Hannibal, though I think Singleton's casting a little old. This sounds like it could be interesting. I love watching people lose their grip on reality.

Damn it, I saw the pic and thought you guys had finally put up a The Shield review!

Dude!, I thought the exact same thing. Bastards! Another Culkin? How many of those little bastards are running around Hollywood? Willis is perfect for Hannibal. He`s wisecracking, badass, and charismatic.

Same here hanso... In fact the first THREE times I saw it I thought they'd finally thrown some love The Shield's way. And maybe I'm crazy, but I thought Willis has been pondering a move behind the camera for a few years now. Hasn't he been rumored/attached to other films as a potential director?

I went to school with Robert Venditti (his pen name)...so I'm hoping Surrogates hits big and he makes millions.

"a futuristic world where humans live in isolation and interact through surrogate robots, a cop (Willis) is forced to leave his home for the first time in years in order to investigate the murders of others’ surrogates." "The people of Solaria have developed a paranoid isolation from each other, almost never entering the same room as another person. All of their needs are met by their robots, and when they must communicate with people, they do so using “trimensional viewing†(holographic projectors). Actually being in the same room with another person, an activity the Solarians call “seeing,†is extremely distasteful to them." It's called "The Naked Sun" and it was written as a sequel to "Caves of Steel" in 1957.
