Bruce Willis is negotiating to star in Kane & Lynch, Lionsgate's adaptation of the Eidos Entertainment video game Kane & Lynch: Dead Men, reports Variety. Kyle Ward penned the screenplay and Adrian Askarieh and Daniel Alter will produce with Jason Blumenthal and Todd Black, and the Willis Brothers Co.
Simon Crane will make his feature directing debut, after serving as second unit director and stunt coordinator on such films as Hancock, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Troy and X-Men: The Last Stand. He is currently working with Willis as the stunt coordinator on the Jonathan Mostow-directed The Surrogates for Touchstone Pictures. Plot Concept: Willis will play Adam "Kane" Marcus, a mercenary who makes an unlikely alliance with a schizophrenic killer named James Lynch. The duo is forced on a mission to retrieve a stolen microchip. Filmmakers are currently looking for actors to fill the Lynch role.
Fuck all!!! Fuck it all to hell!!!!!!

Kane & Lynch?

Someone for the love of all that is holy explain to me why God of War can't get made into a film?
Why oh why, must I suffer with news of countless video game movies and no God of War?
LOL hanso. Cryin’ shame for shizzle.
I actually like this game and can completely see Willis in the Turner role. No wait. Kane. Like scythe said, not so much the game play but the characters and settings are pretty cool. I do like how Hooch looses his shit the more violent you get with him. No wait. Lynch.
I like the idea of Willis playing Kane I mean he can definitely pull off a bad ass, as for Lynch if they want to go for someone who could easily be made to look like the character they ought to have Paul Giamatti (sp?) play Lynch.
Video game adaptation 1st time director = I have a bad feeling about this. But I like Bruce Willis and he's definitely a bad ass.
hanso, I'm getting the feeling here that you want a God of War movie. Don't know what gives me that impression...
There are many games which would be interesting to see get made into movies, but this one never came to mind. It should do well though, as Willis can put out good material. And look at it this way... it a movie adapted from a game to which Uwe Boll is not directing. So, it could have been worse....
This is bullshit, the game is bullshit and the news of video games being made into movies is also...you guessed it.

I don't get tired of saying this but after the success of 300 and the popularity of God of War, it has to make sense to Sony to adapt that game into a movie. I fail to see how every crap game there is out there is able to make to film but there isn't even the slightest rumor of Kratos being brought to life. Not even a fuckin whisper. It's a straight up disrespect.
Oh well I'll just keep fooling myself that they have the project under wraps till it's announced that Mel Gibson will direct Gerald Butler as Kratos in the bloodiest fuckin movie ever put into film and they'll have the chick that narrates the GoW games in it also.
Hanso, I'm right there with you, except for Mel Gibson. As far as I'm concerned that guy shouldn't be allowed near a camera again. I can't even watch Braveheart the same way after his drunken shenanigans. I didn't buy his excuse about his antisemitic comments being due to being drunk. As for God of War, I'm almost thinking they'd be better off going the Beowulf route and go full CG, so they can get the same guy voice Kratos as in the games. The subject matter would lend itself well to CG since everything's going to have to be CG anyway. They can certainly try to make it look a bit more realistic than Zemeckis did with Beowulf, and sort of put it somewhere in between the look of Beowulf and 300.
It's a damned shame they haven't gotten on the ball for that one. I'm really hoping Prince of Persia, Bioshock and Gears of War turn out well. I'll still never get over losing a chance to see Guillermo Del Toro and Peter Jackson collaborate on Halo. What a missed opportunity. The dude responsible for shutting that down should have a plasma grenade shoved up his ass.
Like I said, we'll see how Kane and Lynch turns out, Willis is a badass when he's not souring his reputation by keeping bad political company or hanging out with his ex-wife's boy toy, but there are plenty of games more deserving of big screen treatment. I mean we've got no shortage of crime thrillers, but the cinema is way short on Kratos. Man, how cool would a Shadow of the Colossus, or Assassin's Creed film be, and yet this second rate title gets first crack?
Gibson may be fucked up but his movies are violent, well his last 3 anyways, and that goes perfect with all the blood that is in God of War. Now that I think of it, Sony would probably do a PG-13 version of Kratos and screw the film up so maybe it's better it isn't being made.
Oh who am I kidding, they need to make it regardless.

You are right, I don't know how this Kane & Lynch get made into film while other top notch titles aren't mentioned. Legend of Zelda? Done Lord of the Rings style that would be awesome.
I think Assasin's Creed will get made if Prince of Persia does well at the $$ which I think it will cause it's an adventure movie being released in Summer if I'm not mistaken and produced by Bruckheimer.
Whatever happened to the Grand Theft Auto movie? There use to be rumors about that, haven't heard anything in awhile.
