Bruening Is the New KNIGHT RIDER

Justin Bruening (All My Children) will be leading the cast of the new two-hour backdoor pilot, KNIGHT RIDER, says the Hollywood Reporter. The trade reports Bruening will play the son of Michael Knight, the character played by David Hasselhoff in the original series. Like Bruening, Hasselhoff was a soap star (The Young & the Restless) with few other credits when he landed the role. Doug Liman and Dave Bartis are executive producing for Universal Media Studios and Dutch Oven Productions. Steve Shill is set to direct and co-exec produce it.

Wait a minute! Weren't they suppose to be making a big budget movie for Knight Rider? Oh well, this is just as good if not better. So long as the effects are good, better writing then the original and of course..a kick ass looking car to play KITT. Maybe they can get the original voice (the Principal from Boy Meets World)

I'm sure they won't hanso. Or at least, not in its original format. They'll try to "modernize" or "improve" it. If this dude is playing Michael's son, they better have the Hoff in it playing Michael. Knight Rider ain't Knight Rider without the Hoff.

Yeah Darkknight, I thought they had a "teaser poster" up a while back that just had a black car with the red cylon eye on the front??? I thought the Weinsteins had something to do with it's production? Maybe they are too worried about the car from the upcoming "Spy Hunter" taking all the glory from KITT? JD www.moviesfornobodies.com

well they can always use that busta rhymes song that had knight rider's theme music as the beat as the modern theme song for the show :)

I was really looking forward to a big budget Knight Rider movie too, but when that idea was scrapped and turned into a new series I figured I could live with that. I remember the teaser poster and thought the new KITT looked absolutely bad ass, so I hoped that the re-imagined version would look similar. Now we find out that this version is actually a sequel??? The new Michael Knight looks fine, but I really don't like the idea of a sequel. How often does it happen that someone longs for a remake over a sequel? I do hope that the actor who voiced KITT originally will come back too, a la Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime.

William daniels played KITT, he was on St. Elsewhere and played John Laroquette's dad in BLIND DATE, he might still be alive. Missy Mistakenforaman Eliot also used the the theme song, think 40 year old virgin--it was a remix but there was some of the theme unbutchered in the sample. So he was on All My Children, he must be like the next Sara Michelle Gellar. So they dont Hoff associated with the show but they do want to talk about him? Thats like Corey Feldman saying he is no longer friends with Corey Haim but he still like Heroin. This show will be worse then PIGFORMERS and BIONIC PIG .
