And now, we have our third comic to get adapted into a film news today. Warner Bros. has acquired Capeshooters, a comic book adaptation that will be produced by Bryan Singer's WB-based Bad Hat Harry production company. The project is based on Image Comics co-founder Rob Liefeld's upcoming comic. Singer (X-Men, X2: X-Men United, Superman Returns) is interested in exploring the darker side of the subject. He will only be producer on the project. BHH's Alex Garcia will executive produce.

Plot Concept: In Capeshooters, two slackers become paparazzi who specialize in shooting covert videos of superheroes find themselves on the run after they stumble onto evidence that a revered superhero is actually a villain.

This would be cool if it doesnt turn out to be a comedy. Let keep it serious and then we are talking. I dont want to see a different version of My super Ex girlfriend.

Bryan Singer better CAPESHOOT his late A$$ back to MAN OF STEEL - ASAP! I along with many are waiting for news on the next Superman like a kid on Christmas Eve. Hearing this news is like seeing an employee of yours coming out of a movie theater when he or she called in SICK. Why are you worried about CAPESH!TTERS Bryan? Worry about Superman. Heck, you already are n deep crap for your version of Big Blue. We as fans are being patient telling people -"RETURNS was setting up for something BIG". But my patience is wearing thin. If you're not gonna take a dump. Get off the crapper. Hand it to someone else if you're not interested. You already took forever making Valkerie. Nobody wants to hear about CAPESH!TTERS. We want to hear about Superman. Plus with THE DARK KNIGHT beating its way through Box Office History, we're waiting for Superman to do some Box Office stomping of his own. HURRY UP!

It sounds interesting but not necessarily a ground breaking idea. Watchmen afterall already hits on the superhero being a villain even if it's for a justified reason in his mind.

wolf, it sounds like he's going for a serious tone if he's indeed going to explore the darker side of the subject. Then again once writing starts who knows in what direction they'll go. And we already had a different version of My Super ex-Girlfriend it's called Hancock.

Singer should just hand off SM to somebody else IMO

Millar was talking about Supes again. The American director that approached him wasn't Singer but he didn't say who it was. They are waiting on Singer to pass on the film to see if they can pitch their stuff. I say Singer should pass.

Looks like freakin comic will be turned into a movie now, long live the king, i mean The Dark Knight!

Sounds like an interesting idea. I'm sure producing this won't interfere with directing Man of Steel. There are many hours in a day.

lol - Word CaptainJack - I can't defend SR but I have defended keeping Singer on Supes cuz I know he's got a good movie in him but let's concentrate on that or get off the pot as you said.

This could be interesting, though it's apparently based on a Rob Liefeld comic so that's a bit suspect. I'm guessing the two slackers have big tits?

By pot I mean toilet. Enjoy your liberties Singer!

Recast damn it! Jim Sturgess (21) for Supes.

I have no problem with Routh as Supes. In fact, I think that was one of the stronger aspects of SR. I like how TDK handled things - no exposition or origin recapping or anything. Just make with the action. Singer has talked about doing just that, like he did with X2. As joey and CaptJack have already stated, shit or get off the can, Singer!

fft, you're right on the part of Routh. The only he way he gets recasted is if they reboot the franchise again. Otherwise he was excellent as SM IMO.

hanso, save your SM nomination for the JLA film if they recast all the roles. But that guy just looks way too small to play SM. He can be Superboy though.
