While denying a rumor about President Laura Roslin's(actress Mary McDonnell) character leaving the show halfway through Season 4, executive producer Ronald Moore and his wife fueled more speculation that the rumored split between the first half and second half of the next season would be a year apart. This has been speculated for a few weeks now but it seems clear this is not the choice of BSG creators or the Sci-Fi network but due to the pending WGA strike.
Writers are expected to walk out on November 1st and according to Moore, he's only progressed through Episode 13 at this time leaving doubts on whether he will even get the next six episodes completed by the end of the month.
Here's the details from Syfy Portal:
"I just told Ron what this spoiler was, and he said the Laura spoiler is 'not true,'" said Terry Moore, wife of the executive producer, who is a regular poster on the SciFi Channel message boards. "He also said that he hasn't even told the studio what the end of the show is."
In the same conversation through his wife, Moore also revealed that he has only just recently completed Episode 13 of the last season, which means he still has six episodes to write before writers walk out on Nov. 1 as part of an imminent writers strike. It's unclear how Moore is covered under WGA rules in case of a strike, and if his position as an executive producer affects his ability to continue writing even during a walkout.
Note: The Mary McDonnell leaving rumor began after the actress told some college students that she only had 3 more shows to film leading people to wonder if she was taking an early exit. Not so, says Moore.
