Written and directed by Joss Whedon during season four, "Hush" was a superb story that had the town of Sunnydale under the spell of the floating, DARK CITY-esque villains dubbed The Gentlemen who stole the voices of the townsfolk and made it impossible for the characters to speak.
Recreating The Gentlemen perfectly is sculptor Mat Falls. There are three Gentlemen in total with each coming with the same set of accessories. The points of articulation are superb and Sideshow even managed to find a clever way to get the Gentlemen to float on their individual stands so the imagery from the "Hush" episode is kept intact.
Rounding out the set (with each figure also sold separately) is Buffy, of course. She comes with a stand, a crossbow, a couple of stakes and a "Vampyr" book. Clad in a jacket, this is a fine piece of craftsmanship sculpted by Oluf W. Hartvigson. While Sarah Michelle Gellar herself is a stunning beauty, her looks can often vary from photograph to photo which has made it hard even for Moore to come up with a satisfactory likeness. Hartvigson has run into a similar problem here. Although the look definitely resembles Gellar, the paint job on her face is more dead-on in the photograph on the back of the box than on the actual figure. She's a damned imposing figure regardless, but there's something to be said for nailing the beautiful actress in action figure form and I still haven't been a hundred percent pleased with any of her previous plastic incarnations.
Sideshow has created a limited run for these figures, so get them while they last. They're the ultimate collectible for a BUFFY fan and they look pretty damn nifty standing together as a full set.
