Burger King and Xbox make great pair.

By Karl Schneider     January 31, 2007

The fast-food chain, Burger King, reported a 40% jump in quarterly profits vs. the same period last year, an increase that can be attributed to the profits from Burger King themed Xbox games.

The games, Sneak King, Picketbike Racer, and Big Bumpin, were all sold at $3.99 a piece with the purchase of any BK value meal.

"Our brand and our great food continue to resonate with our restaurant guests," said CEO John Chidsey. "Specifically, our BK Value Menu, as well as our innovative Xbox game collection--which was the best-selling video game of the holiday season, with more than 3.2 million copies sold--increased both sales and restaurant traffic."

KJ's Take:  Don't mess with the King!  Has there ever been a freakier ad campaign than 'The King'?  Honestly, the guy gives me the creeps.

The King scares the bejesus out of me. Remember the construction one where he "pretends to almost" push the guy off? Creepy bastard...which makes the idea of Sneak King seem almost fun...

This guy (the "King") gives me the creeps. Almost as bad as the creepy little girl in the DLP commercials ("It's in the meeers"). I can't believe they made a game out of it. What's next? PS3 game with the "Dell Dude"?

Long Live the KING!...in my nightmares.

I don't know about creepy, but my father said it best when he called him a "dork." He is rather dorky if you look at him. I find him more silly than creepy myself. His commercials where he's playing football are just plain stupid. Still, I have all three of those games for my XBox 360 and two of them are actually fun. I don't understand "Sneak King" at all.

A buddy of mine has a King mask, and I decided to wear it while were tooling around his hometown. We pulled up next to this woman who was just kinda zoning out at the light...when she turned to look at me, she screamed. I felt horrible.

I think the King ad campaign is one of the least annoying ones out there. I liked the one where he caught an interception and ran it for a touchdown. I found it funny. Unlike those crap sonic commercials.

haha fft a dell dude game would be great, living your outrageous lifestyle while trying to avoid the cops for your stoner ways... but i gotta say even BK and XBOX's ad campaigns for these three games were top notch, if i was channel surfing and saw one on i'd stop just to watch it

Sneak King is a ton of fun. And I love the King ad campaign. Granted, Hootie's Tender Bacon Crisp Cheddar Ranch was far superior (one of the best commercials I've ever seen), and I really like the I Am Man commercial that they are finally airing again in its entirety. I think, on the whole, BK easily has one of the best Ad Campaigns running.

The greatest part of the King ad campaigns is how everyone in America is more then a little afraid of the King.. I love it.

I find The King to be quite creepy as well. Not that he's too creepy in the newer commercials. I just remember the first or one of the first commercials with him. It's the one where the guy wakes up and sits up in bed only to notice The King sitting next to him, staring at him. That's creepy!
