The new picture of Johnny Depp as the mad hatter gives me an acid-like Bad trip or something... and im not even on acid!

Some interesting new art has premiered online for Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, which show off the visual style he'll be using in the upcoming Walt Disney Production. USA Today showed the set art such as the famed rose garden while Yahoo Movies has revealed what some of the major characters will look like.

"It has been Burton-ized" is how producer Richard Zanuck describes the director's vision of the Lewis Carroll classic. Many elements are familiar, from the enigmatic Caterpillar (Alan Rickman) to the fierce Jabberwock (Christopher Lee). But none has been presented in this sort of visually surreal fashion.
"We finished shooting in December after only 40 days," Zanuck says. Now the live action is being merged with CG animation and motion-capture creatures, and then transferred into 3-D.
The film will star Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Michael Sheen, Mia Wasikowska, Matt Lucas, Crispin Glover, Stephen Fry and Alan Rickman. Burton leads the Disney remake, based on a screenplay by Linda Woolverton.
Alice in Wonderland will hit standard and IMAX 3-D theaters on March 5, 2010.

I'm starting to get a little tired of Burton directing, Depp starring, white makeup, vibrant colors against black & white background, yada yada yada... Nothing here that's really floating my boat so far.
He has his own style he keeps using over and over. Some times it works and sometimes it doesn't. It should work here, I'd think. And for some crazy reason I find myself interested in this.
Well, if any film fits Burton's look and feel I think this is it.
I've always thought Burton would be perfect for this. He has the right style to make this really interesting
Those pics really don't do anything for me. I hope it'll be good, though. I generally like Burton even if he seems to have that same "style" in most all of his films. He deviated slightly from his usual look for both Big Fish (turned out well) and Planet of the Apes (well, I think we all know how badly this one was though the ape effects were good). I do like the actors who he choses for all these films, but it would be nice to see him use "some" different actors every once in a while.
Did someone say acid trip? Cause with how this movie is looking, that may be the way I want to see it hahaha
I would've preferred tim burton do the american mcgee version of alice in wonderland, that wouldve kicked tremendous amounts of ass. thats if its done right
Dude, Johnny Depp is awesome, why would Burton not cast him in his films? His wife on the other hand he can leave out but how is she gonna eat if he don't give her work? No one else is.
To be honest I don't know what to think. I like Burton but this seems to hint to the same old look "gothic-esque" that we seem to always get from him. Not to mention the same faces, does he know any other actor besides Depp and his wife.
I'll probably be there opening weekend anyway, at least if the trailers convince me
